Message clear to non performers... View full size photo uploaded October 17, 2009 The first few weeks, we heard the questions. "Where is the accountability". Then the losses piled up as did the heat on GM Mark Dominik and Head Coach Raheem Morris. "Morris is too cozy with his players". It would seem that the gassers Morris ordered first day of camp was not enough to persuade some...

TAMPA – It seemed like a good idea at the time. When the Tampa Bay Buccaneers traded with Jacksonville and moved back six spots in the second round of the 2008 NFL draft, dropping from No. 52 to No. 58, they pocketed two extra picks. Then the Bucs selected Dexter Jackson, a speedy receiver out of Appalachian State who was supposed to stretch opposing defenses.

Six days before playing at Tampa Bay, the Panthers signed former Bucaneers wide receiver/kick returner Dexter Jackson to their practice squad. Jackson was a star at Appalachian State and was a second-round draft pick by the Bucs in 2008.

The countdown is started, the players will be packing soon, finishing up last practices, ready to head to the Linc, where the Bucs had success the last time they were there. But 2003 seems like a lifetime ago! The Bucs are rebuilding, and the Eagles have retooled and are as dangerous as ever. In this, the first Pewter Preview movie of the year, we will look at some of the Eagles weapons including a...

The Olympia prejudging is over. Prejudging is where Jay Cutler saw his dreams evaporate in 2008. Jay Cutler may have used prejudging in 2009 to propel him to a historical finish in 2009. By all accounts Cutler and reigning Mr. Olympia Dexter Jackson are the class of the field, and it looks like it is neck and neck going into tonights [...]

That’s where the United Football League Florida Tuskers and New York Sentinels (Simeon Rice’s new team) are sweating their butts off at training camp. The new [...]

Returner Dexter Jackson hosted by Panthers This is probably just the Panthers doing their due on a speedy guy, he has not impressed with the Bucs. He might sign onto the practice squad if the Panthers see potential in him, don't expect him to return kicks for us.

September 1st has arrived, and while some folks equate this with the start of football season, others associate it with the end of a dream. It's the first cut down day for NFL teams, who have to go from their 80 man camp rosters, down to 75 players. 5 players isn't a lot to cut, and you won't see many big names on the list. The Bucs have already cut their 5, with the most recognizable names being Kelly...

[caption id="attachment_1567" align="alignnone" width="150" caption="Jackson's SI cover in 2007. Perhaps the reason he got drafted?"][/caption] I'm sure that no one is too surprised to hear the announcement that last year's 2nd round draft pick, WR (and I use that term only because I'm forced to) Dexter Jackson has been released by ...

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have released underachieving wide receiver Dexter Jackson. Jackson was a second-round draft pick out of Appalachian State in 2008. He appeared in the first seven games of last season, primarily as a kick returner. The 23-year-old returned 20 punts and 14 kickoffs with limited success before losing the kick return job to undrafted free agent Clifton Smith. Smith went on become...
