I saw things today I haven't seen this year, in fact I saw things I have never seen before. For me, it was a beautiful memorable day. I saw the B2 Stealth Bomber perform the fly-over. You can see it on the horizon and you can watch it grow in size but you can't hear it. If it was night, the only way you would know it was coming was because the stars were vanishing. It is a jaw dropping experience to...

That's an issue Todd Haley has to address before the start of the game. Bobby Wade had been handling that chore but he's inactive. Warmups have started and Dantrell Savage and Maurice Leggett are in the two-player line catching Dustin Colquitt's punts. I can't believe Haley would trust Leggett, who has had problems with fumbles and judgment so look for Savage to be the guy.

More photos » by Ed Zurga - AP Browse more photos » Yesterday, we took a closer look at the Chiefs offense and overall win-loss record to see just how unpredictable the Chiefs have been in 2009. Of course, our hopes are that the consistency of playing together and the bye week allow for some real cohesion to take place and that our Chiefs develop an identity (a winning one, I mean). Here...

Dustin ColquittYesterday, in Part I, I set the table for my argument that Dustin Colquitt is the best punter in the NFL this season. I originally planned all this information in a single post, but ultimately, I realized it was too important to make sure the reader understood the whole “gross yardage” issue. Besides, Colquitt deserves to be more than a footnote. So, this post is...

LANDOVER, Md. | Ryan Succop said that, before each game, he and punter Dustin Colquitt get together and pray for peace. It’s a ritual, Succop said, that brings the team’s specialists closer together and brings them comfort when the pressure is on. Succop is a rookie kicker, and he had every reason Sunday to fold: a rowdy and unhappy crowd at Washington’s FedEx Field, a...

Ah, Transaction Tuesday. For a struggling team such as the Kansas City Chiefs , and a front office who has proven to be one of the most active teams in the NFL personnel-wise, this is an exciting day. Last week the Chiefs made eight roster moves within 24 hours. ( Photo Source : When will we get a picture of Ryan O'Callaghan in a Chiefs uniform') What will today bring? Well, we can probably count out...

You were wondering if the Kansas City Chiefs had something to hang their hat on? Well, they do. Punter Dustin Colquitt is the best punter in the NFL a month into the 2009 season. Colquitt's 26 punts are second in the NFL and that's not a good thing for the Chiefs offense. But he's taking advantage of those opportunities. His 44.5 net yard average is No. 1 in the NFL. His 2.5 yards per return is also...

via media.kansascity.com Honestly, I am very embarrased by the way the Chiefs played yesterday. Terrible. To help express my mood, we are starting the news with everyone's favorite, Jason Whitlock. One last thing, Sterling Sharpe's prediction looks pretty accurate today. A culture of winning? Can you build one when you run the ball on 10 of 11 plays while trailing 27-7 in the third quarter? Haley treated...

He's the unsung hero. He'll also put together more yards than any other player on the Chiefs this year - possibly by far depending on our consistency at the starting quarterback position. Since 2005, the Chiefs have enjoyed one of the best punters in the game in Dustin Colquitt . And these last couple years, that questionable third round choice (after all, who selects a punter that early?!) has turned...
