Chiefs Player of the Decade: Will Shields or Tony Gonzalez

Bob Gretz has a nice entry at BobGretz.com regarding the Kansas City Chiefs players of the decade. A few weeks back, Gretz asked his readers to identify their Chiefs of the decade. It came down to two names: Will Shields and Tony Gonzalez. No arguments here. Gretz lays out his own list with Shields at the top. He made those players around him better and he helped the team achieve a lot of victories...

Under the direction of Jay Sexton, the Shade Tree & Parks are one of our earliest departments to swing into action. Secretary Jill Mawhinney and Jay were unable to attend the group photo as were several of the other hardworking members at this 7 AM photo. Most cooperative in the chilly morning, they helped to arrange for an interesting greeting photo. They are: Joseph Payozckowski, Michael Barreto,...

Last time we heard from former Kansas City Chiefs defensive end Eric Hicks he was calling the atmosphere at Arrowhead " toxic. " ( Photo Source ) Yesterday, he joined 610 Sports and had an interesting nugget on the stadium the Chiefs will play in this weekend. "By the way," Hicks told Roger Twibell, " Qualcomm is the armpit of the NFL I have to say . I think it's even worse...

Jamaal Charles Vs. Larry Johnson

It ceases to amaze me that Larry Johnson has his defenders concerning his actions on the field and off the field. While the off the field stuff is being investigated right now by every media out let, let's destroy Johnson on here based on his performance. He's averaging 2.7 yards per game. Many Chiefs fans and former players – most notably Eric Hicks – has defended Diaper Boy because of...

Former Chief Hicks Calls Atmosphere at Arrowhead "Toxic"

Last week, we relayed the words of Tim Grunhard on 810 WHB who said the new regime at Arrowhead didn't seem to want the former players around. At the time, I tiptoed around the topic because Grunhard is not just a former player, but also a frequent visitor of 810 WHB which makes him part of the media. I also said I would withhold further judgment until more evidence appeared. ( Photo Source ) This...

Lions Pick Up Another Former Chief

The Kansas City Chiefs waived 2008 draft pick LB/DE Brian Johnston on Wednesday. He didn't make it far on the waiver list as the Detroit Lions claimed him yesterday. He was drafted under the Gunther Cunningham defensive regime so it makes sense that that the Lions defensive coordinator is going with what he's familiar with. This marks the second 2008 draft pick Cunningham and the Lions have picked...
