Now that Gerris Wilkinson has been placed on IR, the Giants have signed CB/S DJ Johnson off of Denver’s practice squad. Not much is known about Johnson, other than he can play both cornerback and free safety, and is pretty fast. We’ll see how the Giants use him.

Steve Spagnuolo still has faith that his former assistant, Bill Sheridan, is the right man to run the Giants’ defense. That’s what Spagnuolo, the former Giants defensive coordinator and current head coach of the Rams, told me and Jim Miller on Sirius NFL Radio’s Moving the Chains yesterday evening. He believes Sheridan, his old linebackers coach in New York, will find a way to get...

The cuts won’t become official until 6 p.m. today, and even then there’s still a lot of time for the Giants to tweak their roster before opening day on Sept. 13. But according to various NFL sources, and a couple of reports, below is what I believe is the 53-man roster the Giants will announce later this evening. Pierce has been nursing a “sore foot” the last two weeks and did not play on Saturday night against the Jets. He figures to only get a few snaps, though, since the Giants starters aren’t likely to play more than a series or two. According to the Giants,...
