Some years even your depth can't escape the dreaded injury bug. That's right, folks, that cursed little bastard has dug his plague-encrusted fangs into Jamaal Fudge , knocking everybody's favorite backup safety out for the rest of the season. This is especially unusual because the team never disclosed what happened to Fudge, who had mostly played his time out on special teams in 2009. We wish him well....

Scanning my feeds yesterday, I came across this news item regarding a player transaction by the Atlanta Falcons. Cornerback Brian Williams was placed on injured reserve and his roster spot was assumed by Jamaal Fudge. Now that is a cool name. Just say it out loud once. Jamaal Fudge. Awesome. If he ever has a son and [...]

Well, it's official. All we can really do at this point is wish Brian Williams well with his recovery and move on. With the Dallas Cowboys and their potentially potent passing packages on the way, the Falcons are going to need to put their best players on the field Sunday and are making moves toward that end. First off, re-signing Jamaal Fudge is a good move. Fudge is familiar with the system and is...

By the time you read this, the New York Giants will have likely signed Michael Boley. The Baltimore Ravens will have Domonique Foxworth. The Atlanta Falcons will have...well, L.J. Smith and Jamaal Fudge. Yeehaw! It was a far from inspiring first day, but let's keep cool for now and see where this goes. I famously and idiotically bashed Falcons management all last off-season and watched it blow up in...

Falcons Re-Sign Jamaal Fudge, May Ask Him To Start? Good to have depth at safety, for sure. I don't know that Fudge is going to suddenly come out of nowhere and be able to start for this team, though that would certainly be a welcome bit of unreality.
