by LM Otero - AP I would be surprised if Matt Hasselbeck makes it through this season without missing further time. View full size photo » Here's a final notes roundup for the third quarter and whatever it was that followed. Max Unger struggled playing from behind. Jason Hatcher ran through him with ease and hit Matt Hasselbeck , producing the image we see above. I cringe thinking Nate Burleson...
by Nancy Gay Filed under: Seahawks , NFL Quarterbacks ARLINGTON, Texas -- The psyche and impressive football will of Seattle Seahawks quarterback Matt Hasselbeck seems as if it's held together by iron and steel. His body? It's simply not as impervious as his mental makeup. Those cracked ribs, the chronic disc injury in his back, a sore right shoulder and assorted other aches that would put most NFL...
by Eric Gay - AP Improved secondary depth will turn the Dallas Defense into an even bigger blitzing unit than before. (AP Photo/Eric Gay) View full size photo uploaded September 8, 2009 Last week, I rated the Cowboys offense top to bottom. Today, I turn the focus to the defensive side of the ball. I spoke to a source in the lull between the mini-camps and training camp, and he told me Wade Phillips...

...as were 30 other NFL teams. Only the Redskins selected a player this year -- defensive lineman Jeremy Jarmon in the third round. Jarmon, the league's first supplemental pick since 2007, lost his senior year of eligibility at Kentucky after testing positive for a banned diuretic. Versatility at the strong safety position is something the Cowboys lacked in last year's starters, Roy Williams and Keith Davis . While both of them are considered better players against the run, former Jaguar Gerald Sensabaugh looks to solidify the secondary with his own balance of coverage and run support skills. "I’m not really trying to follow Roy," Sensabaugh said. "It’s...

Play of the day: Jason Hatcher knocks Leonard Davis on his butt. Anthony Henry talks about a potential move to safety on passing situations. Roy Williams also weighs in. "If I start, I start. If I don't, I don't," Williams said. "Whatever helps the team in the best situation, then they'll use me. If not, then somebody is better than me. I'm okay with that. The whole common goal is to...
I’ve made it know for a while that I want the Dallas Cowboys to move Jay Ratliff back to DE as a starter and draft a rookie to help man the NT spot with Tank Johnson. If they don't do that I would like to see them give Jason Hatcher a shot at the starter’s role. Either way, I’m not a fan of Marcus Spears’ play and want some more production from that end of the defensive line....
