Photo courtesy of the Kansas City Star If you watched the Kansas City Chiefs game this afternoon, then you probably noticed No. 80 out on the field early and often. No, no that wasn't Jeff Webb , who has since been released. It was new receiver Bobby Wade . Cut by the Minnesota Vikings last weekend, signed by the Chiefs on Monday and six catches for 72 yards on Sunday. Not bad, right? In the Chiefs...

With the addition of Bobby Wade reportedly happening today, I thought it would be a good time to do a quick review of how we ended up with the receivers that we did. Obviously, this position has been a revolving door the last nine months with the exception of Dwayne Bowe and Mark Bradley , the only two leftovers from the '08 squad. There have been players entering their second season that were released...

via Photo Source Not that they ever had him on the list in the first place. Per the New York Times : Plaxico Burress , the former Giants receiver, pleaded guilty on Thursday morning in his weapons-possession case in a deal with Manhattan prosecutors that will send him to prison for two years. Wow. Now, Plaxico was likely never even a consideration in the Kansas City Chiefs search for another wide receiver...

The Chiefs announced Monday that the club has signed free agent WR Ashley Lelie . He entered the NFL as a first-round draft choice (19th overall) of Denver in 2002 and has seen action with Denver (2002-05), Atlanta (2006), San Francisco (2007) and Oakland (2008). The Chiefs waived WR Jeff Webb on Monday to clear the roster spot. Webb played in 31 games (three starts) in three seasons with Kansas City...

Yesterday we posted on what we the Chiefs game should tell us but today, before game time, we air out what we hope the Chiefs- Texans game will begin to reveal. On to the action: 1. Running Game is Set - Larry Johnson can be one of the best backs in the NFL. Jamaal Charles displays Leon Washington -like potential and could become a real gamebreaker on game day. Kolby Smith could provide a more than...

Despite the absence of a press release from the Kansas City Chiefs , Amani Toomer is in River Falls and participating in camp with the team. There are a couple of ways to take this signing. Either Toomer represents an upgrade over a handful of the Chiefs current crop of receivers namely Jeff Webb , Rodney Wright and a few of the other rookies and can help mold the younger guys into better players....

The Chiefs signed WR Amani Toomer on Tuesday, adding quality hands and depth to their receiving corps. This probably means that playing time will be limited for low-end Chiefs receivers like Devard Darling , Jeff Webb and Terrance Copper . All three are in jeopardy of also getting cut.
