Mangini: Harrison Should Talk to Me

by Michael David Smith Filed under: Browns Early this season, running back Jerome Harrison was an integral part of the Cleveland Browns' offense. In Week 3, he had 21 touches (16 carries and five catches) and in Week 4 he had a whopping 34 touches, with 29 carries and five catches. But Harrison's role in the offense has steadily declined, to the point where in Monday night's loss to the Baltimore...

Browns/Ravens: Whither Jerome Harrison?

After having two weeks to prepare for last night’s contest with the Baltimore Ravens, the Cleveland Browns managed to accumulate only 160 yards of total offense. Quarterback Brady Quinn amassed a passer rating of 23.5 through the air. The Browns carried the ball 26 times, collecting 86 yards. But one thing that jumps out of [...]

Browns Need Efficient Play from Brady Quinn Moving Forward

More photos » by Mark Duncan - AP Brady Quinn took some shots earlier this season, but he needs to trust his protection moving forward. Browse more photos » Besides the two-game stretch against the Bills and the Bengals earlier this season, the Browns have been destroyed in pretty much every game. The blame can be laid on many different players or coaches (receivers dropping balls, cornerbacks...

Jamal Lewis 50-50 to play Monday night

Running back Jamal Lewis is probably the only Cleveland Browns player that anyone who is not in a 20-team league should care to own. But even he may not play Monday night versus the Baltimore Ravens. Lewis has been bothered by an ankle injury that has limited him in practice all week. He is listed as questionable to play. Lewis recently said that this will be his final season in the NFL, if he sticks...

Cleveland Browns RB Jamal Lewis may retire at the end of the season

The Cleveland Browns lost yet another game Sunday, dropping their dismal record to 1-7. The fans are continually displeased; the team has been in the cellar for the past few seasons and apparently their latest loss has pushed starting RB Jamal Lewis over the edge. According to the NBC sports web site, Lewis has become so frustrated with the Browns' situation, he announced that he plans to retire at...

Cleveland Browns vs. Chicago Bears - Official Game Thread

The anticipation for a Browns game is close to reaching a new point. Even with the underdog teams of the past, you at least had a feeling that the Browns could pull off an "upset special." With the Bears coming off a 45-10 loss to the Bengals though, an "upset" isn't even crossing my mind. Why? We can't even score a touchdown if it doesn't involve special teams. CLEVELAND BROWNS...

Midseason Report: the Cleveland Browns' Offense

So far this season, our offense has scored 58 total points, for an average of 8.3 points/game. That simply isn't going to get the job done in the NFL. At times, I have wanted to throw my TV out of my third floor window. At others, I have wanted to lace up my cleats to see if I can run a seam route better than Robert Royal . Why exactly are we so bad? Where do we need to improve? Is there anything positive...

More photos » by John Smierciak - AP Browse more photos » After two tough losses on the road, the Chicago Bears will return to Soldier Field this weekend in hopes of getting a much needed win against the hapless Cleveland Browns . On paper, the Bears will surely be the favorite, but after two straight weeks of not being ready to play football, I'd hesitate to call this game a gimme. Week...

A Most Delicious Matchup

Mmm... Browns ... Now, I know what you're thinking. Historically this season, I've been more negative than some of you would care for. I look at it as being more realistic, but at the same time it comes off as having a serious lack of faith in the team. Allow me to attempt to salvage my reputation by coming out and saying that this is easily the best matchup of the year for the Packers and that they...
