It appears that the SWP and SPEW dominated “ disunited Left ” are up to their usual tricks of “ Rule or Ruin ”. Unusually they are working together on trying to wreak the North East Shop Stewards Network ( NESSN). This is being led by their local full time paid staff ( bureaucrats'). Their reasons for this are essentially sectarian and their methods completely divisive and destructive....

When you think of Carnell Williams you surely don't think of a big, powerful back. Williams has great vision and some quick steps, but is 5-11, 215. In this weeks slow-motion rewind you will get a glimpse while even after 2 knee surgeries Williams remains as the starter of the Bucs. We look at a 2nd and 5 from about the 8 yard line (in High Quality, Slow Motion. Enjoy). Pre-Snap : The Bucs line up...

Sun Ra and his Arkestra featurig John Gilmore on Tenor Sax I don’t have any information about this as I don’t have the disc, just the cover, which is “homemade.” The back is all pasted over with gold foil and the front has hand-coloring and some stickers. I think that this covered one of Sun [...]

Apologies for being late with the Slow-Mo video. Here it is though. Enjoy Carnell Williams vision and cutback ability. While it's another run by Williams, you will see a lot of different things in this video than usual. If the video is too large and intrusive to the website, make sure your webpage view is set to "Wide" and not "narrow." You can do this on the left-hand side of the...

Here's a cautionary tale in how not to manage your message in a networked media age, or rather, further evidence of John Gilmore's brilliant maxim, "The Internet interprets censorship as damage and routes around it."

Guardian claims victory over gagging order If you'd glanced at Twitter on the morning of 13 October, you'd have been surprised - a commidities trading company called Trafigura, which most people haven't heard of, and a law firm that specialises in media, Carter Ruck, were both in the "trending topics" section, along with the Guardian. What had happened was that the Guardian had been issued...

Here's a cautionary tale in how not to manage your message in a networked media age, or rather, further evidence of John Gilmore's brilliant maxim , "The internet interprets censorship has damage and routes around it." Late Monday night in England, the Guardian posted a strange article reporting that it was being prevented from reporting on a question pending in Parliament. The only thing...

"The Net interprets censorship as damage and routes around it." - John Gilmore I’m not even going to bother linking elsewhere, because every bugger you care to mention in on this case. In the unlikely event you don’t know what I’m on about, yesterday the libel-tourists’ friend, Carter-Ruck and partners, placed an unprecedented gagging order on the Grauniad , banning...

“The Net interprets censorship as damage and routes around it.” - John Gilmore, Time Magazine 6th December 1993 This quote – made almost 16 years ago – sums up in a nutshell why I love the internet sometimes. As is obvious from the ongoing events this morning that the law firm Carter-Ruck didn’t really understand just how [...]
