Post Your Hawk: Week 10

So, yeah. That Detroit game wasn't what we were expecting, was it? And the return of my pessimism was justified by how the Hawks played last Sunday. I think after this week's game, I'm going to need to do some drugs to medicate the pain: I'm expecting the Seahawks to get blown the fuck out. But I'm going with Jordan Babineaux . 5 tackles (1 for loss), 1 pick, 1 forced fumble. Seahawks lose 34-6. Yuck....

From Zero to Seven

Could Free Safety Jordan Babineaux Be Benched?

Pro Football Weekly reports that the Hawks could put FS Jordan Babineaux on the bench if his play doesn’t pick up: As for Seahawks head coach Jim Mora demanding a “play better or else” approach moving forward, Pro Football Weekly hears one starter who definitely is in jeopardy of losing his job is FS Jordan [...]

Seahawks defenders get five picks

The Seahawks defense was able to pick off five Matthew Stafford passes on Sunday in a Week 9 32-20 win over the Lions. David Hawthorne was responsible for two of the interceptions and also led the team in tackles with nine. Josh Wilson picked Stafford off late in the fourth quarter and took the INT to the house, 61 yards the other way. Deon Grant and Jordan Babineaux were responsible for the other...

Final Notes for the Third and Fourth Quarter

by LM Otero - AP I would be surprised if Matt Hasselbeck makes it through this season without missing further time. View full size photo » Here's a final notes roundup for the third quarter and whatever it was that followed. Max Unger struggled playing from behind. Jason Hatcher ran through him with ease and hit Matt Hasselbeck , producing the image we see above. I cringe thinking Nate Burleson...

Patrick Kerney Subtly Swings into Irrelevance

More photos » by Elaine Thompson - AP Above we can see where the blitz broke down. Browse more photos » That drive was another pin in the Seahawks hopes. Seattle barely budged the ball before Jon Ryan and Seattle's coverage unit combined to undo the Seahawks field position advantage. The resulting drive would sap what was left of Seattle's comeback chances. Marion Barber scurried for six...

David Hawthorne: Pretty Boy-seeking Missile

More photos » by LM Otero - AP Jordan Babineaux showed great spacing by consistently hitting his man before the first down marker. Felix Jones was able to spin through for the first. Browse more photos » Today I finish up with last weekend's game notes. I rewatched the second quarter last night and I had an absolute blast. Here are my notes and highlights. What is Wrong with Seattle's Secondary?

More photos » by LM Otero - AP Jim Mora cut his teeth coaching Seattle's secondary. Since his arrival, Seattle's secondary has been an awful mess. Browse more photos » David Hawthorne shot the gap and tackled Felix Jones for a loss of three. It was the kind of quick turnaround Seattle needed to escape a potentially damning fumble. Then everything crumbled in front of Seattle's high priced...

Sam Hurd Streaks for Six

Be Thankful For What We Have

Jordan Babineaux had a pretty good game Sunday afternoon. As John pointed out in his recap, today Babs finally began to look like a legitimate NFL free safety. Here's an old friend of ours who still doesn't look the part. Gif under the cut! (H/T to Torx)

Virginia Tech at North Carolina - Game Thread: Scouting Kam Chancellor, Sergio Render, Cam Thomas, Etc

It's Thursday and that means Field Gulls long football weekend begins. Tonight's North Carolina at Virginia Tech matchup lacks the preeminent talent that last week's Florida State game had, but both teams have talent that could contribute to the Seahawks future. Here's a brief rundown and then we'll turn this post into a game thread. VT Kam Chancellor: I was pondering Taylor Mays yesterday. Mays shows...

Warner ties NFL record Week 6

Kurt Warner completed 32 of 41 passes for 276 yards and two touchdowns in Week 6 against the Seahawks while tying an NFL record for being the fastest to throw for 30,000 yards in a career. Arizona scored 17 points before Seattle knew what hit it in a 27-3 victory. Warner led a methodical 80-yard march to begin the game that seemed to stun Seattle. Fitzgerald jumped in front of overmatched Jordan Babineaux...
