Justin Fargas Takes Underlying Swipe at JaMarcus Russell’s Lack of Passion?

It took 10 weeks before the Raiders finally decided it was time to bench JaMarcus Russell in favor of a new quarterback. If you saw last week’s game against the Chiefs, you’ll know it doesn’t matter who’s throwing passes for Oakland because the receivers can’t catch them anyways. Regardless, the Raiders have decided [...]

Gradkowski has backing of team, Raider Nation

ALAMEDA – The week after Bruce Gradkowski made his Raiders debut, in that 38-0 embarrassment courtesy of the New York Jets, the journeyman was forced to rub shoulders with the unwashed masses. The People's Quarterback liked it. Gradkowski had just moved into his San Francisco apartment and, with the Bay Bridge shut down after a cable snapped (no, not the Raiders' coach), he was on a BART train...

Fantasy Football Live Chat, 6 PM ET

by R.J. White The second of our bi-weekly chats leading up to the Sunday Tailgate is upon us, and there's much to discuss this week. Many of you are likely suffering with the loss of a starting RB in one of your leagues, with Ronnie Brown , Michael Turner , Cedric Benson , Julius Jones and Clinton Portis likely on the shelf. Who do you start -- one of their backups or a guy like Jamaal Charles , Shonn...

Oakland Raider's Weekly Red Zone Performance:

More photos » by Paul Sakuma - AP What's a screen pass? That's a dumb name for a pass! I'll never call one of those!!! Let's throw another one deep to Darius!!! (AP Photo/Paul Sakuma) Browse more photos » Once again the Oakland Raider Red Zone perfomance was anaemic, to say the least. After starting the game with THE DRIVE we had been waiting for all year, a 60 yard burst by Michael Bush...

In Bush's mind, yards can't make up for loss

Michael Bush, taking the handoff from JaMarcus Russell, racked up a season-high 119 rushing yards on 14 carries Sunday. OAKLAND – So much was made of this week's return of four injured offensive starters: left guard Robert Gallery, right tackle Cornell Green, running back Darren McFadden and wide receiver Chaz Schilens. But it was a familiar face on offense that had the best day. Running back...

For the 99th time, the two bitter rivals squared off. [via image3.examiner.com ] Completing the season series were the Raiders and the Chiefs from Oakland-Alameda County Coliseum. Fargas enjoys playing against Chiefs

The Raiders host the Chiefs in Week 10, and Oakland RB Justin Fargas should be looking forward to the matchup. Fargas has 462 rush yards against Kansas City, his most vs. any team, and is averaging 88 rush yards per game in last three games against them. The Chiefs rank a miserable 28th against the run this season.

Saturday Morning Thought: Is The Oakland Raider Offense Aw-fence-ive or Uh-fence-ive?

I was starting to write the second piece of the Aw-fence-ive First Half Break Down, when my mind began to be amused by the duality of the word that is spelled "O-F-F-E-N-S-I-V-E", so I turned to Dictionary.com for a closer look as the break down of the word. Here is what I found: The root of the word, "Offensive", begins with the Latin Word for "Us", Offens, then goes...

Oakland Raiders Postgame Recap: Raiders 16, Chargers 24

Are they yelling or shaking hands? You be the judge. [via www.pe.com ] Coming in as 17-point underdogs, many people expected the Oakland Raiders to get blown out at the hands of the San Diego Chargers . While the Raiders never led at any point in the ball game, they battled back from down 21-7 to make it a little too close for comfort for San Diego in a 24-16 defeat. Early on, it was "here we...
