When the Lions made their final cuts Sept. 5, nine of the 10 members of their secondary were new. The holdover was safety Kalvin Pearson, who just joined the team last year. But the secondary continues to struggle badly, and the Lions keep making changes.

The Lions sold out the 1,500 tickets that were remaining for Sunday's Steelers game, meaning that there is no blackout and it will be shown live on CBS in the local area. Once it was announced on Wednesday that only 1,500 tickets were still available, the feeling was that the game would be sold out today or tomorrow if an extension was granted. Usually extensions are granted when a team needs 24 more...

Jim Schwartz was "mic'd up" on Sunday, and there is an awesome video on NFL.com letting us see and hear Schwartz at different points in the game. I could watch it over and over. Hoping to make their special teams better, the Lions re-signed wide receiver Adam Jennings and released Yamon Figurs , who was claimed on September 6. Ernie Sims practiced today for the first time since injuring his...

According to John Clayton, the Lions have traded safety Gerald Alexander to the Jaguars for wide receiver Dennis Northcutt . Apparently Northcutt found out a trade was imminent earlier in the week, but nothing happened until today. The Lions weren't interested in parting with a draft pick, so they decided to send Alexander to Jacksonville. Alexander was drafted in 2007 and started every game during...

As Cory Redding and Kalvin Pearson came onto the field Monday morning, they heralded the arrival of the Lions' "new guy." Who was that No. 27? Oh, yeah. Daniel Bullocks. Been a long time.

The Lions practiced only once on Tuesday and did so indoors and in shells. I still haven't been able to figure out why the Lions decided to move inside for the first time during training camp, but I imagine it has something to do with just changing the scenery as every practice up until yesterday had been outside. There were no changes to the PUP list as the remaining three players on it aren't expected...

With the Lions preparing for their first game and having only one afternoon practice today, news out of camp has been on the light side. But there were still a couple of news nuggets to come out of Allen Park. NFL still watching Pearson: With his charges reduced, Kalvin Pearson may be out of the crosshairs in [...]

Filed under: Lions , NFC North MDS hit the nail on the head when he referred to news that Kalvin Pearson allegedly choked the woman supposedly carrying his child to the point of bruising as " maybe the most sickening crime related to an NFL player since Rae Carruth ." And then, something that happens an awful lot to high-profile people in Pearson's shoes happened to Pearson himself -- the...
