Tomlinson should have fond Giants memories

The Chargers visit the Giants in Week 9, and San Diego RB LaDainian Tomlinson should have fond memories of the last time he took on the men in blue. In that 2005 contest, he rushed for 192 yards and three touchdowns, and also threw a score to WR Keenan McCardell . The Giants rank just 19th against the run this season, and have allowed 12 touchdowns on the ground.

EQ Follow-up: Media Pounds On Limbaugh Over NFL Team Bid

TAG TEAM WaPo, Others Gang Up To Stop Rush's NFL Bid Since news broke early this week that Rush Limbaugh was part of a consortium bidding on the NFL's St Louis Rams, the state-run media's outraged response remains baffling. Why do they care who owns a football team? And how many NFL fans are liberals, anyway? Yet, especially from the print media, the reaction has been both immediate and furious. Can...

Keenan McCardell On Rush The Racist

Former WR Keenan McCardell on how Rush Limbaugh owning a team could make the Rams worse: Rush Limbaugh would definitely hurt the St. Louis Rams if he bought the team. I can only judge what he says on the radio – but the way he talks makes me think he’s a racist. The NFL is a dominant [...]

Wide Receiver Musical Chairs

More photos » by Phil Coale - AP Nate Hughes has been a pleasant surprise for the Jaguars in training camp. Where does he fit in the Jags wide receiver plans? Browse more photos » No roster position has seen more competition this offseason than that of wide receiver. Besides Torry Holt , every wide-out is fighting for a spot and it has seemingly brought out the best (or worst) in each receiver...

Jones-Drew will be focal point of running game, but Jaguars plan to share There's no question that Maurice Jones-Drew is the star in Jacksonville's backfield. Camp Battle 2009: Wide Receivers

More photos » by Jeff Roberson - AP While Torry Holt will likely be the Jaguars #1 wide receiver, questions remain about the spots behind him. Browse more photos » The Jaguars wide receiving corp has been bad for a long time. I believe we can all be honest with ourselves on that one. Following Keenan McCardell 's departure in 2001, Jimmy Smith held the fort down admirably. Smith had three...

WR Stats, 2006-2001 data added and YOA

Last time I used the relationship between Catch% and AirYards per Completion (yards per completion with yards after catch removed) to give an evaluation of WR hands over the last two seasons. Today with 8 years of data (as far back as I can find YAC info for) Catch% and AY/C remain correlated, allowing for 8 years of hands eval and an attempt at an overall WR ranking. Top 20 Catch% over expected Player...

Who the @#$% is Anthony Mix?

Reche Caldwell chose not to accept the Washington Redskins veteran minimum contract offer, and with Keenan McCardell not expected to return, this leaves the team a bit short-handed in the receiving corps. Santana Moss and Antwaan Randle-El will certainly be the starters. James Thrash is probably pencilled in as the #3, though at this point in [...]
