by R.J. White Filed under: Expert Chats Clinton Portis owners will be crossing their fingers in the hopes they can snag Ladell Betts off the wire. Owned in five percent of Fleaflicker leagues, Betts is likely handcuffed to Portis already in most leagues where he's unavailable. If you have an extra spot on your team with a droppable player you'd like to cut, Betts is a fine add, even if you don't have...

Chatting at 11:30. Submit questions here. Five more things that are ridiculous. Just about, you know, life. 1. Here was Jim Zorn at his post-game press conference, when asked about the playcall on Ladell Betts's fourth-down touchdown run. "Really, the play designer of that was Stump Mitchell," he said, "and Sherman Smith called the play, and I decided to go for it." Sherman Lewis,...

The Monday night game is done, so it's time to check out my final pick: Steelers 28 @ Broncos 10: Steelers win which takes me to 8-5 for the week, drawn with last week. Not bad, but not great either. Which kind of sums up the day that the Broncos had and in particular Kyle Orton. 23/38 for 221 yards is pretty impressive. However, 3 INT's is not. Especially when Steelers safety Tyrone Carter returns...

The good news first this time: the Redskins actually found a recipe for some success, a combination of quick passes and slashing runs, and also showed some actual heart and determination to make this into a real ballgame. Ladell Betts was finding holes that Clinton Portis has been slow to get to, and Jason Campbell looked sharp again finishing off a second long scoring drive with a pass to Todd Yoder...

by Chris Burke Filed under: Redskins , NFL Injuries As if the slumping Redskins needed any more bad news, running back Clinton Portis left Washington's game in the first quarter after suffering a concussion . Portis took a couple of hard shots on a running play, with Atlanta's Chevis Jackson and Thomas DeCoud each landing blows -- at least one of which appeared to be helmet-to-helmet. No penalty was...
