Cast out from UW, longtime assistant Hart finds home at Notre Dame

Randy Hart was defensive line coach for the Huskies from 1988-2008, one of the longest coaching stints in UW history, earning a lasting reputation both for his energetic personality and for molding the likes of Steve Emtman, D'Marco Farr and Larry Tripplett.

Has Polian lost his edge?

via assets.espn.go.com View full size photo uploaded September 6, 2009 My motto has always been that I have sacred symbols, cows, or prophets. I call a spade a spade when I see it. Now we all greatly respect Bill Polian. He wrote the book on how to build a team in the modern NFL. Every successful team copies on the techniques that Bill Polian authored. Now these techniques have made the Colts into...

Seattle Works Out Centers Cory Withrow and Grey Ruegamer

Adam Caplan is reporting that Seattle is hosting centers Cory Withrow and Grey Ruegamer today . This is mostly interesting because both are centers, and at 287 and 299 respectively, neither are ideal candidates for other positions. Seattle is stacked at center. Chris Spencer is a former first round pick and now a seasoned veteran. Max Unger is this year's second round pick and considered a top prospect....

Ten Bills to Decide 2009, No. 4: DT Marcus Stroud

RICK WILSON/ Florida Times-Union View full size photo uploaded July 8, 2009 The Buffalo Bills traded third- and fifth-round picks in the 2008 NFL Draft to the Jacksonville Jaguars for the rights to DT Marcus Stroud . The goal in acquiring Stroud (and in releasing veteran Larry Tripplett ) was to fortify a Bills run defense that was ranked No. 25 in the NFL the previous season, surrendering 124.6 yards...

UFL Orlando drafts 3 former Colts

The UFL draft was held on Friday, June 19, 2009, and a few former Colts were taken ( first posted by Endo ). Bo Schobel , Larry Tripplett , and Mike Doss were all taken by the Orlando franchise, which still does not have a nickname. Here's some more info on these players and their Colts careers. Mike Doss, safety I've already said what I can say about Doss, so here is a recap on him from my last post...

I Guess This League Is Actually Happening

This United Football League has been very secretive about their upcoming debut in the Fall of 2009 so far, but it looks like they are ready to start divulging some information. It appears there will be four teams to start the 2009 season, with another two to join in 2010. The teams will be located in Las Vegas (coached by Jim Fassel), New York (Ted Cotrell), Orlando (Jim Haslett), and San Francisco...

Two former Bills drafted by UFL Orlando club

Though J.P. Losman technically was not part of the draft pool there were two other former Bills players that were taken in the United Football League “premiere” draft last night. Former defensive tackle Larry Tripplett and former defensive end Eric Powell were both drafted by the UFL’s Orlando club. Their head coach is former Bills LB [...]

Seahawks Training Camp Report: Rules Discussion

Not a lot of info to discuss from the PM practice. Depth and/or catch-lightning-in-a-bottle defensive linemen Larry Tripplett and Chris Cooper are both banged up. As I just stated, teams sign players like Trip and Coop for two reasons: To improve internal replacement level, i.e. improve depth; and to increase the chance that one player, for whatever reason, breaks out. It happens, and it's always...

Bills continue to cut the fat with release of Tripplett

This is turning out to be one of my favorite off-seasons in terms of the Bills cutting players who didn't earn their keep last season. Terminating the contract today of veteran defensive tackle Larry Tripplett just confirmed that. After releasing veterans Anthony Thomas, Kiwaukee Thomas, Coy Wire, Jerametrius Butler and Peerless Price, I was pretty content. I’ve [...]
