Sanford Prepares to Battle for Roster Spot

Knowing that he is in for an uphill battle to make the Vikings roster, seventh-round pick Jamarca Sanford quickly signed a four-year NFL contract. Sanford is likely to find himself battling incumbent safeties Husain Abdullah and Eric Framton for two roster spots behind starters Madieu Williams and Tyrell Johnson. Even without veteran Darren Sharper, there [...]

Approaching The Draft: Safety

This is the last of my “Approaching The Draft” segements, but soon I will compile them together as a complete position-by-position Vikings draft guide. CURRENT STATUS: I think that it is ridiculous that safety isn’t thought of as a bigger need for the Vikings. Madieu Williams was a solid free agent pickup last year, [...]

Quizzing the prophesies; seven-round mock drafts or the existance Manbearpig?

The last time the Bengals had 11 draft picks was in 2004; a draft class with Robert Geathers and Chris Perry as the only remaining players -- Madieu Williams, Landon Johnson, Stacy Andrews, Caleb Miller and Keiwan Ratliff were also in this class. Quiz: What's more scientifically accurate: a seven-round...

Comparing the Vikings and The Timberwolves

Players: Absolutely no comparison. If the Vikings want a player, they go get a very good NFL level starter (Jared Allen, Bernard Berrian, Pat William, Madieu Williams). If the Wolves need a player, they sign 35 year old Kevin Ollie. Edge Vikings 7-2 (10 being the best) Coaching: Well, this is a tough one. Who sucks worse, Randy Wittman or Brad Childress? Both have horrible trouble evaluating talent...

Ferguson Down

Robert Ferguson is on the inactive list for the first time this season and Jeff Dugan is active for only the second time. Just a guess, but I’m betting this is a consequence of Madieu Williams being added to the active roster. Tyrell Johnson, because he doesn’t have to start on defense, can now contribute [...]
