The Bad News St. Louis Rams

The "greatest show on turf" of the St. Louis Rams achieved earlier in the decade has long been gone as of 2009. The Rams franchise has fallen off the map badly since the glory days of Kurt Warner and Marshall Faulk.

Report: Seattle cuts Edgerrin James

Edgerrin James has been waived by the Seahawks, according to ESPN. The move hints that Justin Forsett will see an increased role over the rest of the season as the primary backup to starter Julius Jones . James ran to 10th all-time in rushing yards after a 17-yard effort in Week 8, giving him 12,246 for his career. He's less than 40 yards away from topping Marshall Faulk for ninth all-time.

Spagnuolo, Rams Enter Bye With Rare Feeling During Rebuilding Season

by Matt Snyder Filed under: Rams , NFC West , NFL Coaching Steve Spagnuolo is going through a rough season in his first as an NFL head coach. He had the unenviable task of taking over a roster which was left in disarray by the previous administration. No real effort had been done to bridge the gap from The Greatest Show on Turf to the next wave of players, with the notable exception of drafting studly...

Hoke key man at a key time for the Aztecs

Nick Canepa: With the exception of the impossible, brilliant comet that was Marshall Faulk, I make coach Brady Hoke the most important San Diego State football recruit in 30 years. He's smart, he cares, he has a sense of time, place and urgency, he's daring and the buck stops in his lap. More than anything, he gets it.

Random Ramsdom: Oct. 22nd, 2009

Can you feel it? That is Peyton Manning getting closer...and closer...and closer. If you do plan on watching the game (or you have the ability to) make sure you watch it on a Sony, because Peyton Manning endorses them. And if he endorses them, well, it HAS to be amazing. Here are some Rams stories for today: Straight from the Horses mouth ; Marc Bulger says the Rams must play perfect to grab a win...

NFL Network really needs to fire Marshall Faulk

Marshall Faulk. NFL Network schmuck. Image: hiscatalog.com View full size photo uploaded October 19, 2009 There's no love-loss for Marshall Faulk here. Faulk was a pouty, vindictive, malcontent player for the Indianapolis Colts who always seemed to put himself above the team and the team's accomplishments. I, for one, was happy to see the me-first prick shipped out of town, replaced by the equally...

Rush Limbaugh and the NFL: Cautionary Tale of Managerial Transparency....

I'm a St. Louis Rams fan. I was living in the area when the Rams moved from LA, and they sucked, but they were ours. Then, the greatest show on turf came along, and Kurt Warner, Marshall Faulk and the...

Faulk potentially part of an ownership group? Does Checketts really have the money?

With Rush Limbaugh out of the potential group of buyers for the St. Louis Rams , Dave Checketts is scrambling to replace Rush and the money he brought to the group assembled by Checketts. Now the rumor mill says former Rams RB Marshall Faulk could be in the mix. To me, it's starting to look like Checketts doesn't have the money to be a serious bidder on the Rams. Remember, his group is not the only...

Eagles' performance after bye under Reid

1999: The game actually was played on Jan. 2, 2000, after the Christmas-week bye. It was the season finale, a meaningless game against a Rams team that was on its way to winning the Super Bowl. The Eagles won at home, 38-31, with the Rams resting Marshall Faulk for three quarters and Kurt Warner much of the second half. Donovan McNabb played with his sprained MCL braced. Mike Mamula ran an interception...
