(Note from Sean: Bumped to the front page for the interesting comparison and good research.) Matthew Stafford had a really bad game yesterday. Still, if you want a pick-me-up from some historical perspective, his overall performance through six games is very, very similar to that of another #1-overall rookie eleven years ago who turned out to be pretty good: Peyton Manning , rookie year, first 6 games:...

It's not quite picks time yet, but I just had two random observations to bring up that suddenly came to me. 1) Marvin Harrison. Yeah he might be 37 years old now. But the fact is Harrison is far superior to a plethora of wideouts who are currently chewing up roster space on many teams. Why didn't anyone come in for the guy in the offseason? 2) Fumbles. 2009 might just be looked back on as the year...

It's been a while since we all had to sweat 60 minutes of Colts Football. Well coming into Indianapolis with the Colts sitting at 6-0 for the fourth year out of five can’t be a very inviting feeling for the 49ers. Peyton Manning is again at the top of his game averaging 313.3 yards per game and he’s had no Marvin Harrison to help him reach those numbers, nor has he had his #2 or #3 receivers for that matter. It would look like the 49ers have a big job to handle

By Aaron Scott The Indianapolis Colts 2009 season started off with a close win against the Jacksonville Jaguars and a remarkable win on Monday Night Football against the Miami Dolphins, with a score of 14-12. Having the football on offense for less the 15 minutes and still winning just shows you have talented on offense the Colts can be. Peyton Manning is completing nearly 70% of his pass attempts...

Colts WR Anthony Gonzalez (knee) will not return for the team's Week 7 game against the Rams as he has was ruled out on Friday. Gonzalez has been out since spraining ligaments in his right knee during a season-opening 14-12 victory over Jacksonville, and he has not practiced since. Gonzalez was primed to take over the No. 2 receiving spot after Marvin Harrison was released in the offseason, but the...

Jaguars WR Torry Holt became the third-fastest in NFL history to reach 13,000 yards receiving on Sunday in the team's Week 6 overtime win over his former team, the Rams. Only Jerry Rice and Marvin Harrison were faster to the milestone. Holt finished with five receptions for 101 yards, his first 100-yard receiving game in nearly two years.
