Cadillac Williams is recovering from his second torn patellar tendon in as many seasons but unlike last year, when he tore the patellar tendon in his left knee, the tendon did not rupture. Instead, it tore away from the bone, making the prognosis for a full recovery much shorter. There’s a chance Williams might be cleared to practice sometime in the preseason, but most likely he will begin the...

The St. Petersburg Times reports that Buccaneers GM Mark Dominik said that his club isn't interested in signing free-agent WR Plaxico Burress after speculation was rampant that they were considering him. Agent Drew Rosenhaus said five teams have expressed interest in his client, but none have openly said so. Burress is facing felony gun possession charges in New York but could see his trial pushed...

According to Roy Cummings of the Tampa Tribune , rumors have surfaced about the Buccaneers being interested in Marvin Harrison , the free-agent and long-time Colts receiver. Considering that the Bucs recently released veteran receiver Joey Galloway, who then signed with the Patriots , Cummings calls it a "little far-fetched" that the Bucs would be interested in Harrison. Furthermore, he believes...

Good to read on the Bucs’ official Web site that Raheem The Dream is trying to light a fire under wide receiver Maurice Stovall. Joe likes the move. Stovall, just 24 years old, has a big body and good hands. He’s proven himself on special teams, but maybe this is the year he stops getting injured and fulfills the [...]

Along with the Bucs’ gaping holes on defense, there remains a glaring need for a No. 3 (or better) wide receiver. Maurice Stovall just doesn’t inspire much confidence. Defensive coordinator Jim Bates, of course, is probably praying the Bucs don’t trade for Jay Cutler and do snatch a big run-stuffer in the Round 1 of the NFL Draft. But NFL Draft guru Justin Pawlowski, host [...]

Key to Success : Bucs [1]. Attack Secondary The Bucs have a nice compliment of speedy receivers in Joey Galloway and Dexter Jackson and bigger possession receivers in Michael Clayton and Maurice Stovall. Galloway won't play on Sunday, however the other three are expected to play and should give the four other Bucs quarterbacks some good targets. The Patriots looked shaky against a sub par receiver...

The Battle at Flanker The competition for the starting flanker job figured to be one of camp's most intriguing, and it was. Antonio Bryant, Michael Clayton and Maurice Stovall all proved to be big playmakers during drills. With unheralded receivers such as Brian Clark and Micheal Spurlock pushing them for playing time, this battle figures to rage for weeks. It's hard to imagine the Bucs being truly...

The Bucs' biggest offseason need was to add offensive playmakers, but after passing on most receivers during free agency, it became apparent they felt a player currently on their roster could solve their dilemma.
