Like a number of Bucs fans and Joe, Woody Cummings of the Tampa Tribune is suspicious of the “Michael Clayton interception” against the Dolphins last week. But Cummings, in a TBO podcast, says anyone who pins the Bucs loss on the crazy call just before halftme is “a copout.” Those Bucs tidbits and more can be heard [...]

Julia – dir. Erick Zonca [Edited from a previous “ defense ” of Julia , which was written before a number of US critics got on board with the film] Over the past ten years, a number of films have showcased the many talents of Tilda Swinton, whose uncanny screen presence can’t really be likened to anyone else working today. Other than maybe Asia Argento, I can think of no other...

Joe still can’t figure out how in the hell the NFL officials dreamed up that “interception” by Jason Taylor on Michael Clayton’s catch last Sunday. In short, Clayton is to blame because he never got both feet down. Seriously. Joe learned this by watching NFL vice president of officiating Mike Pereira go through the replay in great [...]

The litigious relationship between Toyota and one of its former in-house counsel sounds like something out of Michael Clayton . A federal judge ruled yesterday that claims by a former in-house counsel Dimitrios Biller that the company hid evidence in litigation involving rollover crashes will be heard by an arbitrator, Bloomberg reported . Bloomberg : Biller sued Toyota, the world largest automaker,...

It’s easy to look in the rear view mirror but it’s pretty obvious Chucky had some things pegged right. Michael Clayton is a big tease. He looks great. Runs great routes. Blocks like a beast. Talks a good game. But when the ball is thrown his way, well… When Clayton was a rookie, he looked like a [...]

Prompted by my post about how few non-adapted/sequel/franchise films there are on the list of the top-grossing films of the 2000s (9 out of 50), kottke.org reader Keith took a look at the Best Picture Oscar nominees for the decade and noticed that the percentage of original properties was actually lower (7 out of 45). From his email: This leaves 7 that are original. Gladiator, Gosford Park, Lost in...

Joe’s got no problem with Raheem The Dream going wild on the zebras after the Michael Clayton catch turned interception yesterday. But Joe can’t pass over the irony that just days ago Raheem The Dream was telling the media how dropping F-bombs is no big deal. That was his response to the story broken by Steve Duemig, of [...]

Last week, Joe made the case for Maurice Stovall to replace Michael Clayton in the starting lineup. That wasn’t an issue Sunday, with Stovall starting in place of Antonio Bryant. But regardless, with his play against Miami, Stovall must knock Clayton from the lineup when Bryant returns. Stovall caught a touchdown bomb from Josh Freeman, caught four of [...]

You saw it. Joe saw it. Damned near every Bucs fan saw it. Except the clown that was watching the peep show when he should have been looking at the replay. The zebras, shockingly, called the Michael Clayton fumble an interception. Anwar Richardson of the Tampa Tribune actually got quotes from referee Tony Corrente about the play. “Because the player in question [...]

We slowMo-ed the slo Mo! Not that it matters what speed you play the tape, the ball was caught by Michael Clayton as came down to the ground, and in fact the ball did not come loose until it was stripped out after he rolled on the ground. Take a look for yourself Buc'em readers, and tell us what you think.

MIAMI – Tampa Bay Buccaneers coach Raheem Morris had no clue how a pass intended for Michael Clayton ended up being ruled as an interception. That's mostly because when an NFL official tried to give Morris an explanation, Morris was not in a listening mood.
