Cleveland TE Michael Gaines made up for the absence of Robert Royal and Steve Heiden the best he could on Sunday in a loss to Green Bay. Gaines led the team with 30 receiving yards on two catches. His long grab went for 21 yards and he narrowly missed getting into the end zone.

The Browns have signed free agent tight end Michael Gaines to strengthen their corps at the position. He was released by the Bears on Oct. 17 after playing in one game. He has caught 79 passes for 819 yards and five touchdowns during his NFL career.
