Over at his NFC West blog, Mike Sando talks to Matt Williams from Scouts, Inc. about some of the issues surrounding the St. Louis Rams rebuild. One of the things I found particularly interesting about it is Williams' take on Spagnuolo's approach to the defense. Here's a pretty elightening statement about Spag's history with linebacker and DLs in light of yesterday's Witherspoon trade: If you look at...

It's not like I ever wanted to go to these mystical "playoffs" you speak of anyway.. (AP Photo/Jeff Chiu) Browse more photos » What a shocker today that was. Rams release LB Quinton Culberson and OT Eric Young Not a huge surprise. Culberson was released to being with, but brought back when the team cut Chris Draft. This makes room on the roster for recent additions WR Ruvell Martin and LB Paris Lenon.

To make room for new signings LB Paris Lenon and WR Ruvell Martin, the Rams released T Eric Young and LB Quinton Culberson. So much for the feel-good stories about Young and the week-long stint back with the Rams for Culberson.

Last week was generally a flop for me in terms of football. I made the trip to Athens, Ga. to see my Gamecocks lose a heart breaker between the hedges...Only to return home in time to see the Seahawks beat the Rams for the 9th time in a row. It doesn't get any easier for the Rams this week, with a return trip to Washington, D.C. Alas, I won't be able to make it to the game in our nation's capital this...

[Ruvell] Martin isn’t a speedster but has developed strength over the years. He has been effective catching passes over the middle and is considered a good perimeter run blocker. [Paris] Lenon is regarded as a tough player with special teams value, but is a bit undersized at about 235 pounds and lacks explosive speed. Both quotes are [...]

The Rams signed linebacker Paris Lenon and wide receiver Ruvell Martin today. No word on who was released to make room for these two players. Paris Lenon started at middle linebacker for the Detroit Lions for the past three seasons and is 31 years old. Lenon should back up middle linebacker and play special teams right [...]
