No longer needed, kicker Billy Cundiff has been waived by the Cleveland Browns. Cundiff filled in while Phil Dawson missed five games with a pulled right calf muscle. Cundiff made all six field-goal tries for the Browns. The Browns also waived defensive back Anthony Madison .

Browns head coach Eric Mangini said during a press conference on Thursday that kicker Phil Dawson has made some progress. "I think there's a real good shot, but we have to get through the rest of the week and make sure everything responds the way we think it's going to respond and we hope it responds."
