MIAMI - It really was a calling. All of it is true. Drew Brees didn't have many options four years ago, when his throwing shoulder was in ruins and his career at a crossroads. He was through in San Diego, discarded like an old car because daddy got a new toy and his name was Philip Rivers.

Filed under: Texans , Pro Bowl Matt Schaub wasn't the AFC's No. 1 option at quarterback for the 2010 Pro Bowl. He wasn't second or third on the list, either. But Schaub took full advantage of falling into a starting spot, winning the game's MVP award. Schaub was initially the AFC's first alternate at quarterback when the Pro Bowl rosters were released. He claimed a spot on the roster when Patriots...

[via www.todofutbolamericano.com ] It's that time of year again. It's time for the Pro Bowl, the NFL's glorified exhibition game that gathers the game's best of the best. Only this time, there are a few catches. First, this year's game isn't in Hawaii. Instead, it's at the site of Super Bowl XLIV and that's Miami. Many people have had varied opinions about that very change. I must say that I disagree...

Tomorrow at Sun Life Stadium (that's going to take some getting used to), the NFL's Pro Bowl will take place at the same site as the Super Bowl for just the second time in league history. And it's the first time since 1975 that the game will be back in Miami. But does anyone care? Let's be honest. The Pro Bowl has always been a joke. But rather than just being able to ignore it - like most have done...

The NFL has announced a new set of criteria for the 2010 Pro Bowl, taking place this coming Sunday in Miami. You just have to be a pro . That's it – the Pro Bowl is just a bowl full of pros. That's the only qualifying factor the NFL seems to need to fill out two squads for Sunday's exhibition celebration. Obviously no player from the Colts or Saints will be playing in the game, so you won't...

The Florida Times-Union reports Jaguars QB David Garrard will be the third quarterback for the AFC in the Pro Bowl. Garrard was named because Peyton Manning is playing in the Super Bowl and three other quarterbacks pulled out because of injuries. Matt Schaub of Houston will start for the AFC with Vince Young of Tennessee and Garrard as the backups. The three quarterbacks voted to the Pro Bowl were...

New York Jets vs. Indianapolis Colts We all know the formula for the Jets if they have any plans on making the trip to Miami for the Super Bowl. Run the ball. Play the hell out of some defense. Seems easy enough right? New York’s battle will begin with the play action pass. Mark Sanchez is young. We know this, and when he gets confused bad things happen. But to have an over reliance on the run...

Here's the latest Sunday-morning buzz around the Jets: As I hinted yesterday, the Jets appear poised to make a change in the secondary, with starting CB Lito Sheppard being dropped from the base defense. There were rumblings all week around the team. As of Friday, Sheppard was telling people that he wasn't sure of his role for today's AFC Championship Game. Sheppard will be active for the game, sources...

A year after he promised to build a bully's defense that would one day carry the Jets to the White House lawn, Rex Ryan's vision stands two good Sundays from reality. He confused Carson Palmer in Cincinnati, pushed around Philip Rivers in San Diego, only to earn an afternoon with maybe the best quarterback of this generation.

I cannot believe we are already here at championship weekend. This season has flew by faster than any season for me. After these two games comes a dead week, then a week with too much coverage. It is depressing that we only have three football games left in the year. My playoff picks have sucked. I have underestimated the Jets defense, I still cannot believe an offense that scared of its quarterback...
