Lions second-guess the secondary

Anthony Henry said he had never been benched in his life -- not in high school, not in college, not in the 122 NFL games he had played before Sunday. So even though he knew he had been playing poorly, he was surprised when Phillip Buchanon came in to replace him at cornerback in the second quarter of the Lions' 28-20 loss to Pittsburgh.

Official Vikings/Lions Injury Reports

Good evening/morning, campers! Glad to see that things have been relatively normal here, with the exception of some of the more creative FanPosts (all of which have been deleted). I would have gotten to these injury reports a bit sooner, but I spent my evening last night in New Orleans at a retirement party for a very good friend of mine that is moving on to the civilian world after putting in his...

Derrick Williams tries not to spin his wheels with Lions

Not long after the Lions drafted him in the third round, Derrick Williams went to a Red Wings game with fellow wide receivers Calvin Johnson and Bryant Johnson. They teased him because he had a Red Wings logo tattooed on his left shoulder. "I was just looking for a wing with a wheel," Williams said. "It was the Red Wings logo, too." Williams' nickname was "D-Wheels"...

Standouts vs. Colts: Culpepper, O-line

What did we learn from the Lions' 18-17 exhibition victory Saturday over the Indianapolis Colts? A lot, and then again, not so much. It's still an exhibition, as you could tell by the sideline watchers, such as key Lions like kicker Jason Hanson, linebacker Ernie Sims and starting cornerbacks Phillip Buchanon and Anthony Henry -- plus 11 Colts.

Peyton Manning has his way with Lions, again

Exhibition or regular season, Detroit or Indianapolis, Colts quarterback Peyton Manning picks apart the Lions. Manning did it again Saturday in the Lions' 18-17 exhibition victory at Ford Field, going 12-for-15 for 123 yards and a touchdown in little more than a half of work, with the Lions missing starting cornerbacks Phillip Buchanon (neck) and Anthony Henry (shoulder).
