Buffalo Bills (1-2) at Miami Dolphins (0-3) Sunday, October 4, 2009 at 4:05 PM ET Joe Robbie Pro Player Land Shark Stadium - Miami, FL Make no mistake about it, folks: two very desperate football teams face off this Sunday in Miami. At 1-2 and 0-3, respectively, neither the Buffalo Bills nor the Miami Dolphins can afford to fall back any further off the pace being set by the red-hot New York Jets ....

The Oakland Raiders have signed safety Rashad Baker and waived fullback Lorenzo Neal . Coach Tom Cable says the move Wednesday to cut ties with Neal was made because of the progress Oren O'Neal has made in his rehab from season-ending knee surgery a year ago. Cable says O'Neal will likely be the starter and there was no place for Neal on the roster.

Rashad Baker's dream to play for his local NFL team ended yesterday when the Eagles cut the free-agent safety. Baker, 27, is a 2000 graduate of Camden's Woodrow Wilson High. Interestingly, he was instrumental in helping the Eagles make the playoffs last year when he had a big interception for the Raiders against the Buccaneers in the last game of the season.

Bob_Q here (a.k.a. the poster formerly known as Outtake24), back with another edition of "Taking Stock." In the first week of preseason, the Philadelphia Eagles squared off against the New England Patriots , suffering a close 27-25 loss. More important than the final outcome, though, was the stellar performance of the Eagles' crop of newcomers. Oh yeah, and the signing of some guy named Vick...

The Philadelphia Inquirer reports Eagles DB Quintin Demps is hoping to start on defense this year and replace the departed Brian Dawkins . Demps was used mostly as a kick returner last season and played sparingly as part of the team's dime package. With Dawkins and Sean Considine gone via free agency, Demps will now compete with Sean Jones , one of only three NFL safeties with more than 14 interceptions...
