Yahoo Sports NFL transactions page is here : --I see Stryker Sulak was among the casualties in Green Bay, which shows that maybe the Raiders knew what they were doing in turning him loose before camp. As for people I wouldn't mind seeing the Raiders pick up, there are a few names. (Of course I won't exactly be disappointed if none of them get snagged): --Center Alex Stepanovich was cut by Pittsburgh...
Rod Coleman's NFL comeback bid is on hold. The 10-year veteran defensive lineman was among three cuts made by the New Orleans Saints on Monday as the club trimmed its roster to 75, the maximum for the final week of the preseason. The Saints also waived cornerback Greg Fassitt and receiver D'Juan Woods, who both had been injured recently. Fassitt hurt his hamstring during Saturday's exhibition game...

(AP Photo/John Bazemore) Browse more photos » Some will tell you Peria Jerry , at the tender age of 25, is pretty old for a rookie. Some will tell you he lacks ideal bulk at the defensive tackle. Very few will tell you that he's not going to succeed at the NFL level, and with good reason. You see, Peria Jerry...
by Stephanie Stradley Filed under: Texans , AFC South , FanHouse Exclusive HOUSTON - Saints and Texans had their second day of scrimmages prior to their preseason game on Saturday, and today got particularly chippy. I counted at least four large fights, two of the fields close to the fans, and two on the middle field, and a number of smaller fights. Hard to tell who the combatants were but the Houston...
The morning practice today between the Texans and Saints turned into Fight Club. There were six bouts. The headliners were middle linebacker DeMeco Ryans vs. tight end Jeremy Shockey and fullback Vonta Leach vs. defensive tackle Rod Coleman.
The Saints and Houston Texans concluded their three joint practice sessions this morning on the practice fields at Reliant Stadium, and tempers ran neck and neck with the soaring temperatures under the cloudless Texas sky. On four separate plays, spanning two fields, pushing and shoving escalated and caused both teams to come together in order to get order restored. Fortunately, none of the combatants...

Practice Notebook, 8/5 The team took the field at 8:50am under full sun in helmets, shoulder pads and shorts…RB Pierre Thomas received a heavy workload. Coach Sean Payton said yesterday that he and running backs coach Bret Ingalls are trying to feature two or three backs in the group each day. With six running backs in practice, it’s hard to get everyone an equal amount of repetitions...

via www.profootballhof.com No vote this time, just me telling you what to think. Why? Only two readers (and the mighty Dave) made any noms. My fellow English majoring pal zooker had some sagely advice: why don’t we dispense with the nominations and go with Orange3B’s and gritzblitz’s…sounds about right to me So that's what I did. I looked up their nominations' stats and, based...
Filed under: Falcons , NFC South , Atlanta , NFL Free Agency Of all the Falcons' recent cuts, only one doesn't make a whole lot of sense. While Wayne Gandy may have played his last snap, and Rod Coleman's best days are probably behind him, the Falcons decision to cut tight end Alge Crumpler seems to smack of retaliation as much as anything else. Cutting Crumpler will only save the Falcons $1.3 million...
