As many have said, this spread seems kind of low. I'd take the 49ers and the over. Weather : 62 °F, 6mph NW Wind...

SANTA CLARA Jimmy Raye has been taking plenty of heat during the 49ers' recent three-game slide, but the veteran offensive coordinator had a loyal defender watching from the sideline during Friday's practice. Rich Gannon, who will provide color commentary Sunday for CBS, spent four seasons with Raye in Kansas City and then one more season with the Raiders. Raye was the Chiefs' offensive coordinator...

Nothing surprising to close out the week. The 49ers would appear to be getting Reggie Smith back for Sunday's game, which is a nice little shot in the arm for a secondary that has had injury issues much of the season. If Smith is active and playing I'm really curious to see how the team utilizes him, given Nate Clements injury. Mark Roman moved his way up to primary safety backup, so if Roman remains...

The 49ers got some strong defensive outings Sunday at the Colts. Dashon Goldson had 10 tackles. Shawntae Spencer had eight tackles. Patrick Willis had eight tackles. Michael Lewis had five tackles and a forced fumble. Takeo Spikes had eight tackles. Aubrayo Franklin had three tackles and a sack. Justin Smith had seven tackles.

We find ourselves a day away from the showdown with Indianapolis and the links are quite the mish-mash of articles. Given that many folks focus on college football on Saturday I suppose we get a few more feature articles than normal. After all the build-up, it's always interesting to hear a bit more about other aspects of the team as opposed to just breaking down matchups. I find the Tony Pashos articles...

We've got the final injury report for the week, but there remain a lot of question marks. The Colts have listed Dwight Freeney and Reggie Wayne as Questionable, which means there's a 50-50 chance they'll play. I'd imagine most folks are anticipating they'll play, because the "Questionable" designation is more or less a joke in the NFL. Both Freeney and Wayne were full participants in practice...

A day later and the Colts non-practice list continues with a couple of small additions. No further word on Reggie Wayne , although Colts President Bill Polian said he still expects Wayne to start on Sunday . This will make tomorrow's final injury report all the more interesting. I still see no reason not to expect Wayne on the field, but it's something to pay close attention to. We'll definitely have...

Hey there folks, welcome to the Golden Nuggets, where I am in complete denial to both the 49ers loss last Sunday and the fact that the team doesn't have a game this week. I'm in complete football overdrive and I keep forgetting, over and over that we do not have a game on Sunday. I suppose the links tonight will set me straight since I'm anticipating only have a few for you. I suppose it'll feel a...

Today marked my first time ever visiting Lincoln Financial Field to watch the Eagles play. Here are some observations: 1. NFL Fans Have Created a Tribal Culture All to Themselves . I asked a bunch of people how early I'd have to leave the house to get decent parking near the Linc, and each said to drive into Center City (that's downtown Philadelphia for the uninitiated), park there, and take the Broad...
