On returning to practice… It felt good to get back out there. Guys had a chance to get away, recover, look back over the last eight weeks, correct some of the mistakes we’ve made and get ready. Guys were full of energy today and excited to get back onto the field and are looking forward to [...]

Braylon Edwards has a unique perspective on the New York Jets' slide to 4-4 following a 3-0 start. Traded to New York days after the team's first loss, the wide receiver brings an outsider's view when he's watched some video of those first three games. "The only thing that really changed -- it looked like they were having a lot of fun," Edwards said Monday as the Jets returned from their...

With six teams on a bye in week 9, you won't have the services of Adrian Peterson (Minnesota), Steven Jackson (St. Louis) and Thomas Jones (NY Jets) for your fantasy team this week. Here are some players who are scheduled to play that I think will under-perform relative to their fantasy rankings for week 9: Matt Forte, Bears ( consensus rank 14 ): Last year, Forte was one of the biggest surprises...

This is the final of three consecutive weeks where six teams have their bye week. Some notable running backs on bye are Minnesota's Adrian Peterson, St. Louis' Steven Jackson and New York's Thomas Jones. That said, here are three running backs that may be a little under the radar that I expect to have a big week: Jonathan Stewart, Panthers : It should be fairly obvious that Stewart's running mate,...

This post is sponsored by Comcast and their NFL RedZone channel. Want to see every touchdown from every NFL game as it happens as well as live look-ins to all of Sunday's games in key situations? Then you need Comcast's NFL RedZone . On Sunday, both red zone offense and red zone defense were critical for the Dolphins . Offensively, the Dolphins were only in the red zone one time - a sad commentary...

It's that time of the year, the time most of us hated as students -- the mid-term grades. The Jets are 4-4 after starting 3-0, so don't expect too many As and Bs on this card. I'll have the unit grades in tomorrow's paper. Here, we'll go with individual grades. UPDATE: Upon further review, I tweaked a few grades after acquiring some new data and speaking with a couple of scouts. Quarterbacks Mark...

Lovely piece in the London Review of Books by Thomas Jones. Sample: It’s 17 years since I stopped writing computer games: a combination of my going to a new school, the onset of adolescence and the BBC Micro becoming obsolete. There are still a few functioning Beebs around the place: a number of Britain’s railway [...]

Sanchez, after the Dolphins beat the Jets earlier this season Miami knocked the Jets from the playoffs in Week 17 last season and delivered a 31-27 defeat in South Florida earlier this season. So the Jets, who finally ended a three-game last week against the lowly Raiders, have some extra motivation against the Dolphins at the Meadowlands. The Jets have stayed on the ground, rushing for 300 yards...

Somehow, the Bills surrendered a ridiculous 318 rushing yards to the Jets — including a team-record 210 to Thomas Jones — and won last week. Now along come the Panthers, who last week rushed for 267 yards —DeAngelo Williams and Jonathan Stewart each went over 100 — in beating the Bucs.
