Denver Broncos kicker Matt Prater has been named the AFC Special Teams Player of the Month for September, the NFL announced Wednesday. It’s a first for the third-year player and the first time a Bronco has won the award since punter Todd Sauerbrun drove drunk with it won it in October 2005. Prater’s nod came [...]

From the FanPosts. -Chris Many probably find the upstart United Football League as an irrelevancy during the early weeks of the NFL regular season. The UFL barely registers a blip on the sports news radar as its four teams start practice this week in preparation for a six-game season kicking off October 8th on the Versus Network. While the league's marketing slogan is "Where the Future Stars Come...

Some much to say, so little space! Actually, I have all the space I want, and it's a good thing. Yesterday seemed to be a busy day for guys getting injured(Dre Bly), guys feeling better(Jay Cutler) and guys that are simply off their rocker(Todd Sauerbrun). We'll start with the Quarterback. Jay Cutler says he is completely back to normal, or at least what normal is now. The weight is back to normal,...

Filed under: Broncos , AFC West I hope punter Paul Ernster wasn't getting comfortable in Denver because two days after a dreadful effort against the Chargers, he was cut. And this comes a week after Todd Sauerbrun got, uh, the boot, for some weird taxi-cab-related issues . Merry Christmas, everybody! Unlike Sauerbrun, who was a pretty good punter, Ernster was released strictly for his on-field performance....

The Denver Broncos on Tuesday made several roster transactions, Head Coach Mike Shanahan announced. The club signed free-agent punter Paul Ernster and added safety Roderick Rogers to its active roster from its practice squad. Denver also waived punter Todd Sauerbrun and safety Marviel Underwood while placing safety Nick Ferguson on its reserve/injured list with a right knee injury. Ernster (6-foot-0,...

Miller actually lost his job with the Patriots last season when he suffered a shoulder injury (affecting his drops) and was replaced by the thunder-footed Todd Sauerbrun. Sauerbrun has since gone to Denver (the mile hile air has to be inviting for a punter), but obviously New England didn't think Miller was the answer any more.
