One of the first moves the Cowboys made at the onset of free agency was shipping aging cornerback...

I’m just a fan. Not a fanatic, but a fan. Raised in a family of football lovers, I have grown up with the game as many of us have. I have seen the rise of legends, and their downfalls. Names come and go. Offensive and defensive schemes change. Even the rules change, but the song remains the same. It’s Football, straight and true. It’s eleven versus eleven. When I became a Buccaneers...

With the Browns gearing up for preseason minicamps, you know that one thing is for certain: Quarterback controversy. From the days of flipping a coin until now, when is the last time that we had a surefire starting quarterback? Trent Dilfer in 2005? With Eric Mangini now making the calls, one debate that continues to swirl [...]

Joe heard the dean of Tampa Bay sports radio, “The Big Dog,” Steve Duemig bring this subject up in his interview with John Lynch Wednesday, but Vacation Man of BSPN.com also writes about how there are so many Bucs involved in TV now. There’s Chucky, Trent Dilfer, Meshawn Johnson and Shaun King working for BSPN, Warren [...]

I'm too young to know what it was like to see Joe Namath in a Rams Uniform, or Johnny Unitas as a Charger. So I can only equate it to recent history, as I'm sure Packer fans throw up seeing Brett Favre in a Jet Uni, or imagine Buffalo fans tuning in to see Thurman Thomas...in a Dolphin Jersey! As Tampa Bay fans we were always immune to these effects. Vinny in Browns colors brought about as many Cheers...

When Trent Dilfer, one of the more horrid quarterbacks to ever step behind center, played for the Bucs, hundreds of thousands of fans (if not select members of the Fourth Estate) likely wanted to ring his neck for his never-ending bonehead plays, constant interceptions and inability to lead a team from behind. Former Bucs quarterback Casey Weldon [...]

Here's a great topic to debate all week long. This is my shot at listing the all-time top players on the Baltimore Ravens at each offensive position. I'll pick my first and second teamers and then expect a lot of discussion and commentary from all of you fans. This will be based on the players at the top of their games, whether or not they played one season or their entire career with the Ravens. If...

The future of the New York Jets, the escalating cultural phenomenon known as Mark Sanchez, hasn’t thrown an NFL pass, yet he’s featured in June’s GQ. The photos display the qualities ESPN’s Trent Dilfer was talking about prior to the draft. They also confirm the fact that John Stocktons are in again, and board shorts [...]

You saw the slogans; "Its A New Day In Tampa Bay"! You Scoffed...as you got your ticket at the ticket Booth on Sunday Morning walking into the Old Sombrero to watch new Quarterback Trent Dilfer take on the Bears. But then next year a funny thing happened...You couldn't get a ticket! The Days of waking up Sunday morning and calling your buddy and asking "Hey want to go to the game?"...

More photos » by Branimir Kvartuc - AP Browse more photos » In football, a quarterback that doesn't do anything spectacular yet also doesn't make many mistakes is often called a game manager. I think of Trent Dilfer with the Super Bowl-winning Ravens a few years back as an example of this. As long as the player doesn't try to do too much, and simply does what is asked of him, the other...

Lots of e-mail this week about Brett Favre and whether he might return to football. I've tried to reach him by phone without success, and the only on-the-record reaction to the latest brushfire about a possible comeback seems to have come in a text message to ESPN's Trent Dilfer. Favre reportedly responded "no'' when Dilfer asked if he was coming out of retirement. So we'll see.

ESPN reports that analyst Trent Dilfer texted Brett Favre to get an idea of whether or not Favre wanted to return to the NFL. Favre's text back to Dilfer was reportedly "NO." Favre has reportedly filed his retirement paperwork, but he still could return to football as the Jets have released him from their reserved/retired roster. Speculation has been that Favre is eyeballing a chance to play...

This is likely the most insane thing you will ever read on this site. Brett Favre should come to Chicago and backup Jay Cutler.
