Final Roster Predictions

After a long, grueling training camp and preseason, some players will no longer be Miami Dolphins as of 4 pm eastern on Saturday. The Dolphins went into Thursday's preseason finale with 66 players on their roster. They must be down to 53 players by the 4 pm deadline. Below is my final roster prediction. I've included some explanations after my prediction. Check it out and then tell us your final predictions....

Dolphins Depth Chart Bubble Watch, V. 6

We're now less than one week away from the final round of cuts that will finalize, for the time being, the Dolphins' 53-man roster. That means a number of those "roster bubble players" have less than a week and just one preseason game to prove they belong on the roster come next week. Therefore, it's time to update the "bubble watch" for the final time this preseason. While in past...

Dolphins Depth Chart Bubble Watch, V. 5

So we're now halfway through the preseason. And we've already seen the ax drop down for several players. With the recent roster moves by the Dolphins, it seems like a good time to update our "depth chart bubble watch." The idea behind this is simple - to put together a projected 53-man roster and to highlight which players I feel are on pace to just barely make the team and which just miss...

Dolphins Depth Chart Bubble Watch, V. 4

With one preseason game in the books and another just days away, the depth chart is starting to come a little bit more into focus. So I figured it's time to update the "depth chart bubble watch" to reflect what we saw on the field on Monday night. Again, just incase you haven't seen this before, the idea behind it is simple - to put together a projected 53-man roster and to highlight which...

Observations from Dolphins Training Camp; 8/14

Hello fellow fin fans. I finally was able to make it back to a practice today after over a week. I’ll also be going to the 3pm practice tomorrow. Some observations from today’s practice: The more I watch these practices, the more I see Ted Ginn looking like a ‘real’ receiver. He runs every route hard, and not only makes every catch look easy, but will try and make it more difficult...

Dolphins Depth Chart Bubble Watch, V. 3

We're now well into training camp and just days away from the first preseason game of the year. And this means it's time to once again update the "depth chart bubble watch" with the latest developments from camp. Again, just incase you haven't seen this before, the idea behind it is simple - to put together a projected 53-man roster and to highlight which players I feel are on pace to just...

Dolphins Depth Chart Bubble Watch, V. 2

We are now almost a week into training camp and even though it's still far too early to read into any developments just yet, it's always fun to speculate. So I figured it's time to bust out the second edition of the "depth chart bubble watch." The idea behind it is simple - to put together a projected 53-man roster and to highlight which players I feel are on pace to just barely make the...

Dolphins Training Camp, Day Two: Receivers and corners take center stage

More photos » by Wilfredo Lee - AP He's always watching. Always... Browse more photos » The first two-a-day of the '09 training camp has come and gone down in Davie for the Dolphins . And two storylines took center stage. One centered around Matt Roth - and we'll touch on that in a minute. But first, let's talk about the battle between the receivers and cornerbacks. COMPETITION BETWEEN...

Dolphins Depth Chart Bubble Watch

One of the more popular features here during training camp last year was my "March Madness" kind of spin on laying out the potential depth chart each week. I say it was "March Madness-esque" because of how I format it - including a list of who I think are the final five players on the roster and the final five off of the roster. The idea behind it wasn't so much to nail down the...

Phins “Let It Loose” & Then Re-sign Tyrone Culver

O.k. I really did try….REALLY tried to come up with something catchy in that title. Unfortunately the “Words Got In the Way“. I know that was a really bad pun but I just couldn’t get “Conga” mixed in and I really was trying to do “Anything for you“. O.k. now I’m just starting to make [...]

Miami Dolphins sign safety Tyrone Culver to two-year extension

Miami Dolphins coach Tony Sparano said during rookie camp he has a clear idea of what he wants from safety Tyrone Culver in 2009: dime-package safety and special-teams ace as he grows into perhaps an every-down player.

Dolphins sign Tyrone Culver to contract extension

Dolphins sign Tyrone Culver to contract extension The PBP learned that safety Tyrone Culver signed a two year contract extension last month - a deal that will keep Culver in Miami through 2011. The new deal will pay Culver $1.1 million in 2010 and $1.25 million in 2011. Culver is an excellent special teams player and saw a lot of action as the team's third safety last year in passing situations. He...
