The Lions have activated linebacker Zack Follett from the practice squad. Linebacker Darnell Bing was waived to make room on the roster for Follett, who is being added to the active roster mainly for his special teams skills. He flies down the field on special teams, and during the preseason he had quite a few tackles on kickoffs, so the hope is that adding him to the mix will improve a rather lackluster...

Mike Reiss said that along with Walter being cut.. Billy Yates , Roderick Rogers , Steve Williams, Vinny Ciurciu , and Robert Ortiz was included. Im a bit shocked about Yates, and Williams. Yates has been a decient backup on the OLine and from reports. Second yr Williams was having a good preseason.. Sad to see both go figured one would make it to the team.. I can understand Yates with all the talent...

The Vikings have released linebacker Vinny Ciurciu (CHUR'-choo), who was primarily a special teams player. The move was made on Tuesday. Ciurcui signed a three-year contract with Minnesota in 2006 worth up to $3 million with $500,000 guaranteed, but injuries were a problem and he didn't make a big impact on the Vikings' coverage units.
