Just a reminder that with Wes Welker healthy, things will be different for the Jets. Not just because Tom Brady has another receiver, but because it will help him avoid the big hits from the Jets blitzers. While Brady was not sacked, he was hit 21 times, often finding himself running for cover. Edelman stepped in [...]

The Jets returned to work today, preparing for Sunday's must-win game (where have we heard that before?) at the Patriots. Only two players missed practice: S Jim Leonhard (thumb surgery) and LB Vernon Gholston (hamstring). As Rex Ryan noted Monday, Leonhard is unlikely to play Sunday. From what I've been told, they may not know for sure how long he will be sidelined until late this week. Eric Smith...

Ok so I'm gonna take the chance to share some random musings from around the NFL , the web, and anywhere else I can dig up something of note. -- I still think Belichick made the wrong the call, but it was much closer than I previously imagined. I've seen some film of the play from a high angle and what is clear is that Brady blew it. His O-line was using slide protection to the right, so at the snap...

We all saw. No need to wax poetic. Let's get to the second-take observations: * Joseph Addai runs right for 4 yards on the opening play, but then the Colts are content to throw quick and underneath on the next two plays and come up short. It's as if they expected blitzes and thought they could catch the Patriots in something. Pierre Garcon drops a pass on a bang-bang, ball arrives and he gets hit....

I hate to be so down after a tough loss…. truly, there were good things to be appreciated. Like WR Jason Avant being rediscovered in the offense as possibly the next best slot receiver to Wes Welker, with nearly 150 yards in receiving… or WR Reggie Brown showing up with some key catches throughout the [...]
