DETROIT – The Detroit Lions' home game against the Cleveland Browns will be blacked out on local TV. Lions spokesman Bill Keenist confirmed Thursday the team did not sell 7,000-plus tickets that were available the previous day. The game featuring two 1-8 teams will be not be shown on TV in the Detroit, Lansing, Saginaw-Flint and Toledo, Ohio, markets. CBS owns the broadcast rights to the game.

They came Friday to see Inkster quarterback Devin Gardner, the 6-foot-4, 205-pound phenom who some assume will take over starting job now that Wolverines' Tate Forcier proved to be a mere mortal. The next guy is always the better guy.
