The Seahawks' 2-10 record this season can be viewed one of two ways. On the one hand, they obviously suck, their season devastated by an unseemly broth of gimpy receivers, overrated defenders, and general ineptitude. On the other hand, the Hawks' two wins represent our fair city's onl...

Thrust into a starting role when Tom Brady went down with an injury, career backup Matt Cassel of the New England Patriots (they face the Seahawks on Sunday at Qwest Field) has developed into one of the more remarkable stories of the 2008 NFL season. Cassel threw for 400 (vs. Jets) and 415 (at Dolphins) yards in Weeks 11-12, matching the NFL record for consecutive 400-yard games.

Finally, it has come to this – The Super Bowl. New England is one step away from being the only NFL team in history to finish the season with 19 straight victories. If they win on Sunday, it will be their fourth title in seven years. They are definitely the best team in the NFL this season, and huge favorites for the title. They are facing New York Giants, who are definitely a surprise in the NFC.
