by Brian Grummell Filed under: Georgia Tech , Miami , ACC So he's not exactly the great Mike Rozier and we haven't seen a truly great option runner since 1997 and Ahman Green , but Georgia Tech's Jonathan Dwyer will most definitely do. Before leaving late in the first half with an injury, Dwyer did the following with his 10 carries against a hot Miami defense: 35-yard-carry, 0 yards, 3 yards, 12 yards,...

It was not so long ago that fantasy owners had written off Fred Taylor due to his bad knees. But Taylor persevered, and had some huge fantasy totals last season.

I have no problems with the plays Gary Kubiak called in those final moments. One was a naked bootleg, the other a pass. Would a handoff to Ahman Green been safer? Sure it would have. On the other hand, there's something to be said for instilling an aggressive mindset in a team. That's why I liked Kubiak's fourth-down calls even though both blew up in his face. Speaking of blowing up in his face, how...

From the Houston Chronicle ( link ): With Ahman Green not expected to play this week, the Texans plan to call up Darius Walker from the practice squad. He started two games in four appearances last season, finishing with 54 carries for 264 yards (4.6 average). “Other than Darius, right now, I don’t see anything happening,” Gary Kubiak said. “Maybe (we will sign) a scout team player, because we need...

Filed under: Packers , Texans , AFC South , NFL Injuries There was little good for Texans fans in the Steelers crushing of the Texans in their home opener. At least starting running back, Ahman Green , didn't fall over injured without being touched like he did in the first preseason game. Right? Well, in yesterday's press conference , Gary Kubiak said that the Texans limited Green's time because he...

Ahman Green is Gary Kubiak's worst mistake. Looking back on it now, the Texans should have cut their losses after paying him $8 million for those 70 carries last season. He convinced them he still cared about football and that he could still be a productive NFL player. There's nothing to think he can be after the Texans announced on Monday that he's undergoing tests for an ankle injury. This is the...

I bring good news amid an avalanche of bad. Mario Williams is almost unstoppable. He's beating his man time after time. Unfortunately, he's not getting enough help, and the Steelers are doing a terrific job with the quick passing game. Almost everything else is a mess after one quarter. Ahman Green isn't a factor. The D-line is getting dominated, the secondary torched. This news isn't completely surprising...

Last week, a guy who used to be a key part of the Green Bay Packers offense took a pay cut with his current team, the Houston Texans. The restructuring of Ahman Green’s contract made few papers and did not garner much discussion on the airwaves, and quite frankly, it is not something that most [...]

The Houston Texans placed running back Chris Brown on injured reserve Saturday, continuing a string of recent disappointments at the position. Brown, a free agent who signed in March, has struggled with back problems since the beginning of training camp. He was signed to back up Ahman Green, but was never able to make a contribution after suffering back cramps on his first day of camp.

Tim from Battle Red Blog : I know, I know...who do the Texans have that could possibly be worth a damn for fantasy purposes? Two words, my friends: Ahman. Green. I jest. I wouldn't draft Ahman Green if my life depended on it. And neither should you. He probably just broke a nail while reading this; that'll keep him out ten (10) weeks, easy. But down to business. The best fantasy option on Houston's...

Were the Texans really prepared to cut Ahman Green? We may never know the answer to that one. To do so would have meant opening the season with Chris Taylor and Steve Slaton, neither of whom has started an NFL game.

Filed under: Texans , AFC South , NFL Injuries By coaches' accounts, Ahman Green had a great camp. Then he hurt his groin during his first touch of his first preseason game and hasn't played since. He says he will be ready to go by the Pittsburgh game, and by restructuring his contract to one incentivized for game play, he is putting his money where his mouth is. According to the Houston Chronicle's...
