"We've taken a lot of shots in the last few months," Michigan coach Rich Rodriguez said today at the Michigan Golf Course before he teed off in the Brian Griese/Steve Hutchinson "Champions for Children's Hearts" celebrity golf tournament. I mean, who else will they ever find to play quarterback for them? Y'know, aside from Brian Griese, Luke McCown, Chris Simms and rookie Josh Johnson. I'm not saying Garcia doesn't have a good argument for a raise....

To no avail, the Bucs tried to get rid of Bruce Gradkowski during the Draft. Other teams were more interested in Chris Simms and Brian Griese. According to pewterreport.com, the Buccaneers will bring five quarterbacks to Training Camp in late July. After drafting Josh Johnson in the late fifth round today, they have six: Jeff Garcia, Brian Griese, Luke McCown, Chris Simms, Bruce Gradkowski and Jake Plummer, and Johnson. The Buccaneers traded an undisclosed 2009 draft pick to the Chicago Bears for former Broncos quarterback Brian Griese, who played for Tampa Bay in 2004 and 2005. Griese played for Chicago the past two seasons, passing for 2,023 yards, 11 touchdowns and 14 interceptions as a backup.
