Oh that Derek Hagan. Remember how everyone in the media down in South Florida raved about his play during training camp - only to disappear on gamedays? Well, now Hagan again is getting some attention at practice. But it's not the kind of attention he probably wants. Apparently, Hagan and Will Allen got into a little scuffle during practice today. According to the Palm Beach Post , here's what happened:...

The first half-hour of Thursday's practice ended with some good-natured -- for the most part -- pushing, shoving and jawing between wide receiver Derek Hagan and cornerback Will Allen that ended with one of the practice officials being sent tumbling.

Yesterday, somebody asked why I wouldn't respond to the news that Derek Hagan was working ahead of Ted Ginn at receiver - meaning Ginn potentially was dropped down the depth chart. Well, now you know why. Tony Sparano said today that Ted Ginn is indeed still a starter . So everyone freaked out yesterday over nothing. Sparano refers to those kinds of changes in practice as experiments. Says Sparano:...

The Miami Dolphins are in state of flux and it isn’t good. Last week, Ernest Wilford was inactive which allowed the Monday morning QB’s to rip the decision since he was not the target on the final play of the Dolphins first game. Derek Hagan who a week before was demoted in favor of Greg [...]

Derek Hagan views himself as the leader of the Dolphins' young receiver unit, but that distinction took a big hit this week when he was demoted during the team's first day of preparing for Sunday's home opener against the Jets.

Here's some interesting news to come out just a few moments ago. The Sun-Sentinel is reporting that Greg Camarillo is now working as a starter - ahead of projected starter Derek Hagan. With that said, it's important to note that the media only gets to watch the first 30 minutes of practice. So it could be that this is just an experiment or perhaps just a particular package. In fact, and I'm just guessing...

New Depth Chart/Kelvin Smith waived First off, Kelvin Smith was injured/waived. There goes another draft pick down the toilet. Secondly, the only changes to the depth chart are that Donald Thomas is now up to first team RG and Derek Hagan passed Ernest Wilford at WR. Also, Chad Pennington is listed as the 1st team QB. However, yet again, the QBs were listed in order of seniority.

In our second installment of Around the AFC East, Matty I talks about changes in the Dolphins' receiver corp. With the departure of receivers Chris Chambers and Marty Booker, where do you see the Dolphins' receiver corp? Do Ted Ginn and Derek Hagan have the skills and experience to step up and make the plays they need to in order to help Miami move forward? The Phinsider : That's a great question....

The Miami Dolphins have themselves a problem. They are thin at WR. The obvious choices to start are Ted Ginn on the outside and free agent signee Ernest Wilford on the other. So who starts in the slot? Who gives the numbers 1 and 2 a break? With the depth a problem and a roster [...]

Derek Hagan has shown enough in two years to prove that he'll never be the playmaker Miami thought he could be when they spent a third-round pick on him. As the roster purge continues, Hagan must be considered an endangered...

As of now, the Dolphins don't have a quarterback who has started a season's worth of games, and 2005 draft pick Derek Hagan ranks as their most experienced wide receiver.

Filed under: Dolphins , AFC East , NFL Fans Dolphins wide receiver Derek Hagan enters his third year in the NFL. Early in his senior season at Arizona State, he was projected as a possible first-round pick, but inconsistent play and a knack for dropping passes saw his stock drop. Miami ended up taking him in the third round of the 2006 draft, and to date, he's still learning to become a complete receiver....
