As I reported, the Jets re-signed Hank Poteat yesterday to a one year deal. I think it was a move that had to be made, considering the Jets didn't do much in the draft to address the corners and safeties. We did get Dwight Lowery, but I think you have to feel a little bit safer [...]

Poteat had the first two interceptions of his nine year career in 2007, was a free agent who hadn't seen a lot of interest from other teams since free agency began. It [...]

He spent the last two seasons with the Jets and played in every game, notching a career-high 45 tackles while starting nine games. Rich Cimini is reporting in the Daily News that the Jets are “close” to inking veteran free agent Hank Poteat. Poteat had minimal interest from other teams this offseason, but the Patriots did come knocking due to his familiarity with their system and their recent departures at the position. One would have to imagine that [...]

Filed under: Steelers , AFC North , Pittsburgh Seemingly nearly every year, the Patriots have signed an ex-Steeler. Between Mike Vrabel, Chad Scott, Hank Poteat, Chad Brown and Chidi Iwuoma, there have been a parade of former Steelers up in Boston. This year the Steelers may return the favor. Tight end Kyle Brady visited Pittsburgh's training facility on Tuesday. Brady, a first-round pick of the Jets...

Having lost both Randall Gay and Asante Samuel, the Patriots are going back to what they know. It appears that they're in discussions with Hank Poteat. Although not great, Poteat's presence helped to solidify the rotation at #2 CB. I thought that the Jets would have inked Poteat to a one or two year deal by [...]
