Two punt return touchdowns for Reggie Bush in the second half and the Vikings are getting buried. I can’t believe how utterly pitiful the special teams coverage is for this team. It may be the worst in the history of the world. It can’t just be the injuries to Vinny Ciurciu and Heath Farwell. Adrian [...]

The bad news keeps coming for the Vikings, as it concerns the team’s health. They lost linebacker Heath Farwell and defensive end Jayme Mitchell for the season during the preseason opener, and now, the offseason’s primary addition to the secondary, safety Madieu Williams, will reportedly miss at least six weeks due to a neck [...]

As expected, the Vikings placed LB Heath Farwell and DE Jayme Mitchell on the injured reserve list today. Joining them on IR is G Mike Jones, who was also injured in the pre-season loss to Seattle. To reload the roster, the Vikings have signed three more players . Those three players are Brian Norwell, a DE from Illinois that was originally signed as a UDFA by New England, Sean Dumford, an offensive...

Vikings linebacker Heath Farwell suffered a torn anterior cruciate ligament on Friday and will miss the entire 2008 season. Backup linebackers Erin Henderson, Vinny Ciurciu, Derrick Pope and Rufus Alexander will see their playing time increase and are now happier than Zygi Wilf seeing himself on National TV during a game. Seriously, have you ever seen such a successful guy get so excited to see himself...

When your offense hasn't yet shown you they are ready for prime time you look for good news wherever you can find it. The Vikings took a hit and have lost two densive players. Both Heath Farwell and Jayme Mitchell are out for the season. Farwell's injury is a significant blow to the Minnesota special teams, to be sure. While it's obviously bad news for Heath Farwell, and we send him our best wishes...

The loss of Heath Farwell leaves a hole in the special teams, but his absence is an opportunity for other linebacker candidates.

The Vikings‘ defense got a whole lot thinner yesterday with the announcement that both linebacker/special teams bad-ass Heath Farwell and backup left end Jayme Mitchell will be lost for the season with torn ACLs. Both injuries happened during Friday night’s preseason tilt with the Seahawks…need I reiterate my disdain for preseason? For the [...]

In what can generously be termed a severe blow to the Beloved Purple, Brad Childress informed everyone this afternoon that both LB Heath Farwell and DE Jayme Mitchell tore ACLs in Friday night's loss to Seattle and are done for the 2008 season. This is the third consecutive year that the Vikings have lost a linebacker in the pre-season opener with a torn ACL. The same injury befell Chad Greenway in...

Heath Farwell, in with the second-team defense in the 1st quarter (don’t you just love preseason'), injured his knee in what appeared to be pretty severe fashion and had to be helped off the field. The first-team defense had a fairly pathetic effort, allowing big runs and passes, but did manage to hold the Seahawks [...]

Quality role players such as Tony Richardson, Mewelde Moore, Heath Farwell and Dontarrious Thomas could stay with team, if the price is right.

MANKATO - The Vikings depth chart lists a different player as the primary backup at each of the linebacker spots. Jason Glenn is behind Ben Leber at one outside position, and Heath Farwell is Chad Greenway's replacement at the other. The only place Dontarrious Thomas' name appears is as E.J. Henderson's understudy in the middle. This is one case where the depth chart fails to reflect reality and certainly...
