Filed under: Buccaneers , NFL Injuries While there's been no official word from the Tampa Bay Buccaneers at this point, there is a very good chance that Jeff Garcia could be returning to the starting lineup this coming Sunday, thanks in large part to Champ Bailey 's dismantling of Brian Griese 's arm/shoulder/elbow in Tampa Bay's 16-13 loss. Garcia came off the bench after being relegated to backup...

In the topsy-turvy world of all things Bronco, there is Marcus Thomas. A 305-pound defensive tackle who now has an interception this season after his grab of an errant Jeff Garcia throw Sunday, but no sacks. read more

A full return to health by Brian Griese may not be enough to save his starting job. Griese hurt his right elbow and shoulder during Sunday's 16-13 loss at Denver when he was hit by blitzing CB Champ Bailey. He was replaced by former No. 1 Jeff Garcia, who completed 13-of-17 passes for 93 yards and a TD that pulled Tampa Bay within three points with 2:02 remaining.

Terrell Owens' love affair with Tony Romo and the rest of his Dallas teammates may be turning down the rocky path that his relationships with Donovan McNabb and Jeff Garcia followed. At least it seemed that way after the Cowboys lost Sunday for the first time this season.

Gruden is a fool for not vociferously backing team leader and Pro Bowl QB Jeff Garcia. Let me just start with a theory I have: Jon Gruden is the next Al Davis. Okay, he is probably never going to own a team, and he may not sue the league. But let’s remember that Davis was once a [...]

The Chicago Bears held out Pro Bowl kick returner Devin Hester from Sunday's game against Tampa Bay because of a rib injury, and the Buccaneers listed Jeff Garcia as their third quarterback. Hester, off to a slow start, was injured during last week's 20-17 loss at Carolina and did not practice during the week. Garcia, a Pro Bowl pick last year, was replaced as the starter by Brian Griese in last week's...

Last week, Derrick Brooks (and his bum hamstring) decided whether he was going to play. Galloway will play if he can, but from what we've seen from the 14-year veteran the last two seasons -- remember when he left the playoff game against the New York Giants with about three minutes left? -- he does not do well with pain.

Less than 24 hours after the Bucs beat the Falcons, it was announced that Brian Griese would be the starter this Sunday against Chicago. So the questions begin again. Jeff Garcia says that he can play. Jon Gruden won’t say anything about Jeff Garcia. Brian Griese is simply going with the motions. Garcia has been [...]

Buccaneers head coach Jon Gruden has denied any of the rumors, but as many head coaches do, he was very vague on the matter. But let’s just take this with a little bit of hope. Garcia was an outstanding quarterback with the 49ers in his short tenure here. Picking up the torch after Steve Young was [...]

Rumors continue to swirl about the future of Jeff Garcia as the QB for the Bucs, but for now, like it or not Brian Griese is going to get the start Sunday vs the Bears in Chicago. In the end it may be a better move since Griese is a former Bear and knows Lovie [...]

TAMPA — Quarterback Jeff Garcia is the type of playmaker that is rare at his position in the NFL. Tampa Bay Coach Jon Gruden said as much a number of times last year as Garcia, in his first season with the Bucs, gave life to a normally lifeless offense and helped lead the Buccaneers to the playoffs.
