What timing, Jaxon is right, Matt Moore definately has to worry about his position on the team. No so much because the Panthers traded for Josh McCown but because during practice he fractured his fibula and is listed as week-to-week. However, when one door closes another opens. Bret Basanez was quickly signed to the practice squad and may be actived to the main roster. I guess it's only fair that...

Panthers head coach John Fox has had some very nice comments about newly acquired back-up quarterback Josh McCown . Fox still remembers how McCown performed the one time he faced him while McCown was still with the Cardinals: "He caused us fits," Fox said. "He's a good athlete, good size, and a lively arm. For whatever reason, I remember the one game out there he played well against us." Fox apparently...

Filed under: Dolphins , AFC East On Friday, the Dolphins sent quarterback Josh McCown to the Panthers, presumably to provide depth behind Jake Delhomme after Matt Moore suffered what looked to be a serious injury during the preseason finale against the Steelers (turns out, Moore will be okay and, like the rest of us, is day to day ). Prior to moving McCown, there was some speculation that Miami would...

Ricky Williams is under contract for the 2009 season; John Beck got kept over Josh McCown on potential; and safety Keith Davis got dumped last week because the new Dolphins rulers' fears about Yeremiah Bell, Renaldo Hill and Jason Allen were allayed.

It didn't know this but apparently the Panthers have tried to get Josh McCown in the past only to be rejected Scout.com reports. McCown will come to Carolina as the Panthers' number two quarterback. In the past, the Panthers have tried to sign McCown in free agency, only to be spurned because of promises of starting elsewhere. The Panthers gave up their 2009 7th round pick in exchange for McCown....

The Miami Dolphins have traded quarterback Josh McCown to the Carolina Panthers for an undisclosed draft pick next spring. McCown is the odd man out in Miami. The Dolphins apparently will keep rookie Chad Henne and second-year pro John Beck behind starter Chad Pennington. McCown gives the Panthers another option behind starter Jake Delhomme, who's returning from elbow surgery. Designated backup Matt...

So much for keeping four quarterbacks, which never seemed likely. Josh McCown is going, going, gone -- according to various media reports early this evening -- and leaving Chad Now, Chad Tomorrow and John Beck as the Dolphins' three QBs....
