The Seattle Seahawks expect to have middle linebacker Lofa Tatupu in their lineup for the opening regular season game. The knee injury Tatupu suffered in Monday night's exhibition game in San Diego was nothing more serious than a bone bruise. Holmgren said Tatupu should be ready to play in the regular-season opener in Buffalo on Sept. 7.

Tatupu, Pro Bowl quarterback Matt Hasselbeck (tight back), No. 3 quarterback Charlie Frye (knee) and starting right tackle Sean Locklear (knee) missed practice Wednesday. All except Frye will miss Friday's preseason finale against Oakland. Frye may be available but backup quarterback Seneca Wallace will start and No. 4 quarterback Dalton Bell will also play.

Lofa Tatupu left stadium on crutches , will have MRI. Wow. This sucks. Let's hope it's nothing serious. Frye might be hurt too.

That's the word out of Seahawks Insider . I didn't see the injury and have no insight into the severity. The team will conduct an MRI tomorrow. It's not hard to expect the worst, but we shall see.

Seahawks Pro Bowl middle linebacker Lofa Tatupu wanted nothing to do with the new league-approved use of a helmet radio on game days for defensive players. But he's slowly adapting to the innovation.
