[Seahawks] leading receiver Bobby Engram will miss six to eight weeks with a cracked bone in his shoulder. The Seahawks also cut key run-stopper Marcus Tubbs after he failed a physical. Lame.

With a healthy Marcus Tubbs, Seattle has probably the best overall defensive talent in the NFL. Without, they should be top ten, maybe top five. He's that good. So, his health is a paramount concern. There are three criteria I would like Tubbs to satisfy before I think he's healthy. 1. He passes a physical . Duh, right? Tubbs tore his ACL with a textbook "stiff-legged landing". I've watched the play...

With the 32nd overall pick in the first ever Seahawks All-Time Fantasy Draft, the (19)76ers select... Marcus Tubbs, Texas via JAMD With this selection, the (19)76ers re-unite the starting defensive tackle duo from the 2005 season. Tubbs has had his injury problems, but when he’s been healthy, he’s been a beast. His rare combination of the ability to both occupy blockers and to penetrate to pressure...

I thought it worthwhile to post a brief compendium of Tubbs' injuries. It's that time of year when speculation is rampant, so instead of discussing Tubbs’ size or his lonely days in the gym, I thought it better to stick to facts. Here’s where we stand. Bumps and Bruises 2004 Before his injuries turned to the severe, Tubbs suffered his share of nagging, minor injuries. Tubbs first appeared on the injury...

We're turning the bend and are entering the home stretch. Here are my round by round picks for Seattle at defensive tackle. We're putting an emphasis on 3-techs, but when a 1-tech is good enough, has certain hybrid 3-tech abilities, we can assume that he'd slot into the 1 and Marcus Tubbs could become Bernard's primary backup at the 3. Before we jump into this, you'll notice I'm short on space eaters....

It already has been a long -- and at times lonely -- offseason for Marcus Tubbs. But the defensive tackle, who is recovering from a second knee surgery, got some company Monday as the Seahawks began their conditioning program.

The love for Mebane around this blog is palpable. And, why not? He's an eminent run stuffer that mixes in some pass rush. That's a rare and valuable asset on any defense. For the Hawks he's been something of a godsend. After Marcus Tubbs busted his knee in the first quarter of the final preseason game, people could be forgiven for giving up on the 2007 season. Seattle had the third best rush defense...
