It's not the Woe Line anymore. One year after the Pete Kendall mess, the Jets' offensive line is rebuilt and refocused. There's no turmoil and no uncertainty. Training camp was blissfully uneventful, with the same five guys in the same positions, day after day.

Barring a dramatic change, the Jets will have avoided another Pete Kendall nightmare by maintaining a hard-line stance with formerly disgruntled tight end Chris Baker, who is prepared play the season under his existing contract.

WHAT were the odds? Longer than Chad Pennington can get a football downfield, for sure. At the end of 2007, Pete Kendall had a better chance of coming back to the Jets than Pennington. Eric Mangini had a greater shot at running Bill Belichick's...

With the 39th overall pick in the first ever Seahawks All-Time Fantasy Draft, DKSHFTF select... Pete Kendall, Boston College via JAMD Guard play has not been a tremendous strength of our Seattle Seahawks over the course of the past thirty years, with Hutch being the only true superstar we have had at that position. However, Pete Kendall remains somewhat overlooked for his 5 years of work on the Hawks...

From Pelzman’s latest column: What would happen if the Jets and Giants swapped unhappy tight ends? … the Jets would have to throw in something else. Well, they do have an extra fourth-rounder in next year’s draft, from trading disgruntled Pete Kendall to Washington. See, it all ties together. Pelzman makes an interesting case, but there are a few [...]

Last summer, I was pretty much against the notion of the team letting Pete Kendall go, mostly because there wasn’t a backup plan in which I was convinced could guarantee success … practically though, it became clear that trading Kendall was the best of the intractable mess the team had created with their player — [...]

The Jets anddisgruntled tight end Chris Baker are heading down Route 66. Hold on, it's going to be a bumpy ride. In a virtual replay of Pete Kendall's minicamp rant from last year, Baker got down and dirty Thursday at Hofstra, painting the front office as a group of serial liars.

Chris Baker held court with the press today, and it seems that he’s had some things to say. Not surprisingly a lot of the things that Baker was saying today are consistent with what Pete Kendall said last year … airing the grievances, indicating that he wants to stay with the team, why he’s [...]

ProFootballTalk more eloquently asks the same question that we did last night about why three players in three years have publicly decried the team for making promises and then not delivering. Pete Kendall, Laveranues Coles and now Chris Baker … seeing a trend? And so the deeper question, in our assessment, is whether the players think [...]

Rich Cimini reports in the Daily News blog last night that Chris Baker had requested a trade and changed his representation to Pete Kendall's agency. “… Baker, who stopped participating in the Jets’ voluntary offseason program three weeks ago because he’s unhappy with his contract, formally requested a trade but was denied by the team, his [...]

Mike Florio hits the nail on the head on Yahoo! Sports about how Pennington is taking the high road — potentially to his own peril. In an era when guys like Coles and ex-Jet Pete Kendall have realized the benefits of becoming a big, fat splinter in the franchise’s foot, Pennington hasn’t forced the issue. On [...]
