As he has done for so many previous summers, inside linebacker Ray Lewis began what could be his last go-round as a Raven with the signs that have long been taken for granted.

Ray Lewis participates in a drill as the full Ravens squad takes to the field at McDaniel College in Westminster. It was the team's first such practice under its new coach, John Harbaugh. More than 6,000 fans, perhaps excited about the team's potential under Harbaugh, turned out to watch the practice.

Thirteen seasons later, Ray Lewis isn't much different from the 21-year-old rookie who played middle linebacker for the Baltimore Ravens with his own brand of passion and fervor.

Over breakfast the other day a friend of mine, a London Labour stalwart, raised with glee the first few weeks of the new Mayor Johnson administration. “Look at all the things they’ve got wrong”, he chortled. “Simon Milton’s appointment (the first time round), Ray Lewis, the Rise festival. Mistakes all over the place. And this [...]

Deuce Of Davenport has already supplied the obligatory Mark Churma joke. I can’t for the life of me understant why there’s not a Ray Lewis Special Edition for sale. If there’s a Detroit Lions model available, I’d like to petition Michael Apted to interview every child who slept in one….every 7 years.

After failed attempts to blame the Church of England, Lynton Crosby and some vast left-wing conspiracy, for the botched appointments of Ray Lewis and Simon Milton, the Tories have now decided to blame the law itself. Speaking to the London Assembly today, Boris Johnson's interim Chief of Staff and one-time Mayoral candidate Nick Boles said that: "We did the best we could in an unsatisfactory situation...

Fat chance that Baltimore defensive stalwart Ray Lewis will soon join offensive tackle Jonathan Ogden on the sidelines as a retired Raven. While Ogden finally decided last month that a painful bout of turf toe would help spell the end of his NFL career, Lewis said this week that “football is just getting started for me.” It’s [...]

Just as it did back in the days of Johnny U. and the old Colts, Westminster is starting to feel like home for Ray Lewis and Co. This will be the 13th summer for the Ravens, compared with 21 years for their pro football predecessors. Here are a few ideas for those planning on making the purple-and-black pilgrimage to McDaniel College.

No, Imani and Tyrone, not the football player Ray Lewis. Regular readers may recall when Booker Rising highlighted Ray Lewis' ascension as a deputy mayor of London in early May, making him the highest-ranking black conservative at the municipal government level in Britain.. However, that was a short-lived stint. Apparently he quit (or as others claim, was forced to resign) as London's deputy mayor...

That’s Ray Lewis, Justice of the Peace, or not: Ray Lewis is not, and never has been, a magistrate. On Thursday both he and the mayor [...]
