Filed under: Lions , NFC North The good news keeps on rollin' out of Detroit: first, the team is guaranteed not to lose this week (yeah, they're on their bye), and Matt Millen has been " Tatum Bell -ed," thus insuring an end to the futility that has become the Lions organization. Maybe that's overstating it a bit -- it's hard to undo more than eight years of hardcore ineptitude in a season -- but,...

Filed under: Giants , NFC East It was probably as close to a perfect day as Justin Tuck could have had, Lombardi Trophy aside, but yesterday was marred by the theft of Tuck's iPod , which was missing when he returned to the locker room after doing the post-game media rounds. Before that, Tuck had himself a pretty good day, singlehandedly feeding on the soul of the Rams' offense with three tackles,...

KnowledgeDroppings back again to reveal last week's honoree for The Sports Frappe "Sports Douche Of The Week" award. Easy choice this past week: Tatum Bell, come on down and get your award. In case you didn't hear, Tatum Bell allegedly stole new arrival RB Rudi Johnson's bag and took cash and underwear from the bag. Yeah, I know..........underwear? You stole underwear? Really?!? Of course Bell denies...

The mysterious woman that ended up with Rudi Johnson's bags has finally broken her silence on the situation, and her story really contradicts what both Victor DeGrate and Tatum Bell said about what happened. "Somebody's not telling the whole story," said the woman, who spoke to the Free Press on the condition of anonymity because she did not want to be harassed. "It all lies with Mr. Bell. He's the...

Victor DeGrate's mother spoke to the Detroit News on Monday and said her son had no involvement in Tatum Bell's taking of Rudi Johnson's bags. Today, Victor DeGrate himself spoke on the matter and reiterated that he had nothing to do with the situation and indirectly said that Bell is basically full of it. “I just know I had nothing to do with it,” DeGrate said today in a phone interview. “What he...

Filed under: Lions , NFC North Throughout this whole Tatum Bell/ Rudi Johnson saga (creatively called "Bellhop"; I would have gone with "Bellhopgate" myself), I wondered one thing: where is Victor DeGrate in all of this? DeGrate is, if you're unaware, the guy Bell name-dropped when feeding everyone his tale of misunderstanding and wrongly-identified luggage. Bell claimed he thought the bags he picked...

by Isaac , The World of Isaac We've had a pretty good laugh here in Detroit about the Tatum Bell/Rudi Johnson thing.... And Bell seemed fairly genuine when last week he defended himself on the Dan Patrick show, saying he thought he was grabbing a friends bags.... But now, that friend, Victor Degrate said he had nothing to do with it . DeGrate said he never asked Bell to pick up anything. He said he...

Filed under: Bears , Saints , Texans The NFL season is finally here and there are still plenty of guys waiting for the phone to ring. Running back Shaun Alexander , 2005 NFL MVP, is probably the biggest name currently not on a roster, but there's also Travis Henry , Najeh Davenport , Tatum Bell , and Cedric Benson . But things are looking up for Ced, the Bears 2005 first-round pick who was never anything...

And now for your daily Tatum Bell "bag-gate" update... Bell went on The Dan Patrick Show yesterday to defend himself and really didn't come out looking any less guilty. His story seems like it could be true at some points, but as Patrick said, there are too many loose ends. Bell easily could have grabbed Rudi Johnson's bags thinking they were Victor DeGrate's, but that doesn't explain what happened...

Bring back Tatum Bell! The No Fun League needs guys like Tatum Bell. This column needs guys like Tatum Bell. When cut by Detroit last week, apparently Bell took luggage placed in the Lions locker room by his replacement Rudi Johnson. When asked about this on The Dan Patrick Show on radio, Tatum made the following eloquent statement: "Tatum Bell's not no thief." But Johnson says Tatum even stole his...

Tatum Bell will be on the Dan Patrick Show this morning to defend himself in "bag-gate." Rumor has it that the DP Show is trying to get Rudi Johnson to come on as well, which would result in some interesting radio. If those two were on the air together you can bet there would be fireworks. Pro Football Talk has another picture mocking "bag-gate." There were no changes made to the initial injury report...
