The inaugural six-week UFL season has come to a close, and the league has already fielded an undefeated team. Those titans destined to live forever in lesser league immortality are the Florida Tuskers, led by former Saints head coach Jim Haslett and featuring such former gridiron notables as Ricky Manning Jr., Brooks Bollinger, Odell Thurman, Tatum Bell, Todd Sauerbrun and Super Bowl MVP Dexter Jackson....

Officially starting in 2009, the UFL took over the "unofficial" minor league football spot from the bankrupt Arena Football League. It's basically a four team league filled with NFL misfits who just couldn't...

by Matt Snyder Filed under: Chicago Bears , NFC North , NFL Quarterbacks As with any polarizing figure, Jay Cutler brings about strong emotions on both sides of the fence. Many people believe he's the worst thing that ever happened to professional quarterbacking, someone who sucks so bad he'll be in the UFL in a few years. Others believe his golden arm will carry him to the Hall of Fame eventually...

by Anthony Olivieri Filed under: UFL On Wednesday night, the Las Vegas Locomotives trounced the New York Sentinels, 41-10, to remain in contention for a berth in the UFL Championship Game on Nov. 27. While the game wasn't all that compelling -- nor was it, shall we say, must-see TV -- it was an important night for many on the field. The UFL concludes its season just in time for players to join NFL...

Those who ran the Arena Football League (you remember that? It’s the one ESPN unsuccessfully tried to cram down our gullets) swear that it’s only in temporary limbo, and will resume what is no doubt its impending dominance of the sports landscape any year now. I don’t know, though. Color me skeptical about the prospect of a sports league’s reemergence when it is auctioning...

Actually, I believe the "Tuskers" when they say that they can beat the bucs. Tatum Bell and Pittmen were both serviceable players when they played in the right system. Bell was good on the broncos and pittman was good on the bucs. The UFL still has some serviceable, NFL type players. Because of front office politics, bad GMs making bad decisions and inflated contracts, some of the these players...

by Matt Snyder Filed under: Buccaneers , NFC South , UFL As we near the halfway point of the NFL season, there is a slew of really bad NFL teams stinking up the joint. The 0-7 Tampa Bay Buccaneers obviously qualify. That means it's time for a bunch of delusional people to start making claims about how so-and-so could beat the Bucs. You know, college teams, "my rec league team," high school...

Funny story. The MLB likes their playoffs to start on either first Tuesday or Wednesday of October. However, October 1st happened to be a Thursday, meaning that the postseason started on October 7th -- later than usual. At the same time, the NBA likes to begin on either last Tuesday of October or the first Tuesday of November, and since November 3rd was considered too late, the season begins on the...
