The #1 and #2 players on the LPGA money list matched cards for the 2nd-straight round at the Mizuno Classic , but 67s by Ji-Yai Shin and Ai Miyazato were only good enough to move them into a tie for 5th at -8 with Inbee Park (bogey-free 66), Song-Hee Kim (6-birdie 67), Momoko Ueda (bogey-free 68), Mi-Jeong Jeon (ditto), Hee Young Park (4-birdie 69), and Brittany Lang (3-birdie 70). They all sit 3 shots...

LPGA Player of the Year rivals Ji-Yai Shin (5-birdie 69 with bogeys on 9 and 18), Ai Miyazato (bogey-free 69), and Lorena Ochoa (2-birdie 71) didn't hurt themselves in the 1st round of the Mizuno Classic , but they didn't light it up like the leaders. Brittany Lang lead the way with a 66 that was sparked by an eagle on the par-5 7th, but hot on her heels were former KLPGAer Hee Young Park (who started...

Na Yeon Choi shot a flawless 67 today in the Hana Bank/KOLON Championship , but it almost wasn't enough for her 2nd career LPGA win. Maria Hjorth fired a 31 and Ya Ni Tseng a 32 on the front to get to -9 with 9 to play. But Choi spoiled the rerun of the 2008 LPGA Championship that looked to be developing in Incheon. Her own bogey-free 33 kept her 1 off the pace, and as Hjorth made par after par and...

Getting onechan's guaranteed-to-keep-you-up-all-night cough is one thing; finding out she's brought head lice home from school is another. While I'm waiting for the fourth-to-last load of laundry to get out of the dryer, I have a little time to give you the results of the 1st round of the Hana Bank/KOLON Championship . In honor of Hound Dog, who's still in the "stepping away" phase of his...

Despite giving up 8 scores of 67 or below , Priddis Greens held up pretty well for a par-71 in the 1st round of the Canadian Women's Open . Sure, 35 players broke 70, 48 went under par, and 66 shot par or better, but that still means there were more rounds over par than anything else. Putting aside those who simply didn't have it today (including, shockingly, Michelle Wie , Hee-Won Han , Christina...

United States 16-12 Europe Holders the United States maintained their unbeaten record on American soil when they retained the Solheim Cup against Europe today with a sparkling display in the last-day singles in Illinois. Needing 14 points to keep possession of the trophy, the home team secured the decisive point when Morgan Pressel beat Anna Nordqvist 3&2 in the penultimate match at a sunbaked...

Wandering through the crowds and players on the first few holes of the Solheim Cup at Rich Harvest Farms in Sugar Grove, Illinois , I take no notebook with me, nor do I have any pre-set strategy. I’m simply soaking in the atmosphere like my liver soaking in vodka. One thing that strikes me about the fans is how well-coordinated the chants are, and how pep-rally-like the rally of “U.S.A.!...

I just arrived at Rich Harvest Farms in Sugar Grove, Illinois , and am struck immediately by the throngs of fans and the pristine course. From what I saw of the layout in my long trudge from the wrong lot to the media center, it’s a bit of a curious design: random trees jutting up from carnival-ride fairways, amorphous greens that look almost specially designed for sucker-pin placement, and a...
